I recently watched it. It was pretty awesome.

Saw The Departed sunday night. It was brilliant. I never really understood the adjective "self-assured" when it came to movie making but I do now. The makers simply had faith in the writing and didn't add anything stupid or unnecessary. It kept picking up speed and building momentum that by the time the rollercoaster crashes into a wall at the end of the movie you are stunned. Excellent stuff, recommended for all.

I did watch that just a few years ago and while it was certainly quite dumb indeed, you underestimate the sheer depths of dumbness possible in a movie. For I assure you, there are far, far worse ones out there. A quick perusal of the movie review column at somethingawful should suffice to demonstrate this.

I saw I Am Sam, with Sean Penn and Michelle Pfeiffer.

It wasnt a great movie, good actors couldnt save the thin storyline. only upside was i was reminded of how beautiful michelle pfeiffer is, i had almost forgotten that. 4/10

another movie i saw recently was Midnight Run from 1988 with Robert Deniro. Its a really great movie, recommended. 8/10

Last night I saw Atomic Cafe in finnish television for the second time.

Plot Outline: Disturbing collection of 1960s United States government issued propaganda films designed to reassure Americans that the atomic bomb was not a threat to their safety.

Army information film: When not close enough to be killed, the atomic bomb is one of the most beautiful sights in the world.

Civil defense film: Be sure to include tranquilizers to ease the strain and monotony of life in a fallout shelter. A bottle of 100 should be sufficient for a family of four. Tranquilizers are not a narcotic, and are not habit-forming.

Classic stuff.

They are right, you know.

In one class I saw a WWII propaganda film about the Japanese-American internment camps. It wasn't what I was expecting. They weren't at all racist, and they did recognize the problem with detaining citizens of a democracy without charges. But they claimed that it was necessary for the war effort (a Japanese invasion of the mainland was a real fear), and even said that most of those detained accepted it as their patriotic duty. Which I doubt - but they didn't villify anyone.

I watched The Last Crusade yesterday.
Are you reffering to Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade or smthing else ... :hmm:

I saw Man of the Year in theatres Sunday evening. It was funny, although not as funny as I've come to expect from Robin Williams movies.

Anger Management is on TV right now

Anyone know the difference betweek the Director's cut and regular cut of Blade Runner? I'm too lazy to look it up right now.

Director's cut doesn't have narration, has music from Vangelis (not sure did original have it?) and the ending is bit different with slight hint that Deckard doesn't acknowledge something.

I prefer the Director's cut of course.
One of my favourites.

Hitch was cute. I like the part when Al started dancing.

Wasn't impressed with Blade Runner. Very boring. I might try watching it again, and see if I can understand it better.

We are studying Blade Runner at school in Media Studies. It's very odd.
