What Movie(s) Have You Recently Seen?

My GF had "Wedding Crashers" on her Netflix. I never would have gotten a movie like that myself but after watching it with it I must say it was fairly entertaining (albeit sappy). Make sure you watch the unrrated version (lots of naked breasts! ).

Watched Top Gun today. Again.


It's still the best movie ever made. I had to check, though, just to be sure. And to remind myself of it's greatness, to bask in it, if you will.

I'm trying to get through The Young Girls of Rochefort on DVD, but the choreography just isn't what I'm used to from the classic '40s musicals. I'll probably go see something this weekend. Either Fearless or Borat. I've never really liked that Sacha Baron Cohen guy much though . . .

I saw "Opera Jawa" at the London Film Festival yesterday. Very unusual film. Highly original, plenty creative, beautifully rendered, if a little boring owing to the music and cultural references which went right over my head.

Everyone on Earth should see Baraka. I didn't see it recently, I'm just sayin', is all.

I agree. It's an amazingly eye opening film for all humans to watch. It's also a refreshing break from the usual cinematic grammar and narrative structure which filmmakers presume we all need in order to enjoy a cinematic product. It looks like you don't like many popular movies. Nothing wrong with that though. I generally dislike most popular movies but it just makes me wonder what sorts of movies do you like, if any?

I saw Cindarella Man for the first time last night. It was pretty good, and very intense.

I saw The Departed a couple of weeks ago, which I highly recommend. IMHO its Martin Scorsese's best film to date (which is saying a lot).
