What Music Are You Listening To? #61: Now without a catchy title...

@Borachio
Does this sound and look familiar?
The English version came out a few months earlier than the French one.
Btw, Roger Jouret (Plastic Bertrand) didn't sing on the hitversion, but Lou Deprijck did who also wrote the music.

Elton Motello - 'Jet boy jet girl'

A short story of the song : an interview with Lou Deprijck

Well, that's all news to me but thanks for the information.

The English version is not good, imo.

And what a shame for poor old Lou!

Two brand new songs by one of the Glimmer Twins :

'England lost'

'Gotta get a grip'

Been listening to Red Fang and Clutch a bunch recently.
Neil Fallon is great. He was also guest vocals on Blood and Thunder.

I'm also going to see Clutch next week along with Primus, should be a fun show.

I find myself entranced with this stupid pop rap

Well I spent some relevant junks of my teenage years being an so-called "hip-hopper" (sounds ridiculous to me now as well), I even introduced baggy jeans to my class (Muricans: the hip hop style is not associated with race in Germany as it is in the US and used to be a thriving sub culture in Germany, even mass youth culture)
So I guess rap forced my brain to like rap. No joke. I posted about this somewhere else.

Still the best song about the circle of life I know

edit: Some explaining:
The refrain says: "To spawn and die salmon pulls up the river. To spawn and die salmon pulls up the river. etc..." In this song, the singer does the same. He recasts his life with his spawn and lets the video flow in reverse direction towards his death.
It is a simple idea. But I find it beautifully executed.
Another signature translation line: "Life is like fire. It warms and it burns. Life is hard. But I buy all of it.". Cheesy. But good cheese. And life needs that.
