What They Found in my Head...

I'm back... kinda.

I was in the hospital until the 16th and had to be readmitted for meningitis. A week later, they let me out again. On the 28th (5 days later), I had to go back in again because My stitches loosened and I had a spinal fluid leak and was in for another week!

I have been back at the in-laws for 1 1\2 weeks (Cleaner than where I was living), on massive antibiotics and close watch.

I am very, very tired and still light headed to the point of confusion... probably the pressure in my head is lower than I have been used to and am not used to it. I feel like my head is full of water all the time.

Will try and keep posted.

Working back to a normal life;

And steady improvement as life goes.

Awesome :D

You made a lot of people here worried..

Meningitis and THEN a csf leak?!? Cripes! I didn't know you could spring a leak two weeks after surgery! That's awful! Most sincere condolences.

Hopefully you're able to get all the TV you want. I expect that you're very tired all the time. That's totally fair. Remember to try to be lightly mobile, but don't exert yourself. i.e., Lots of walking, very little stair-climbing.

If you've trouble keeping your eyes open, I suggest audiobooks. Librivox is a youtube channel where volunteers read circa 1950s sci-fi short-stories and then upload them. It's awesome, since you can drift off between stories

Thanks for checking in Fr8. Rootin' for your happiness and health.

Last night I had bouts of vertigo for hours. I nearly fell when getting out of bed but I had my chair to grab onto.

A while back I kept asking for another brain scan instead something else was wrong, but they told me there was pretty much no chance of anything being wrong with the brain since my last scan.

I am fortunate my brain is healthy. But too much dizzyness and fatigue from my ears.

Glad to hear you're okay Fr8! Hang in there!

Great to hear from you!

We're all rooting for you :)

How's your facial nerve? How much of it do they think they got?
Still a little numb on the right side, mainly the lips ans tongue. 90% hearing loss (may return).

They had to cut the balance nerve so now I have left side working and the right side not.. Kinda like getting off the Tilt-a-Hurl at the fair. If I stand up too fast, I fall down.

Thanks for all the thoughts. May take a year to heal fully.

Looks like typing and thinking are 100%.
Good too see you alive and well.

Looks like the recovery is proceeding along well enough, and hopefully your hearing will recover quickly!
