So Which Genre did you picked and if you choose why

For me i picked Screamo becouse i just love deathcore bands :goodjob:

What a strange set of genres.

Indie / 90s alternative / Classic rock

some polls people use multiple choice when they shouldn't have, but this poll is one of those that doesn't have multiple choice when it should.

to make me choose one genre is too restricting.

When I first got into metal as a teenager that's pretty much all I listened to (though I did listen to several sub-genres of metal). But as I've gotten older, I've mellowed out. I realized I didn't want to go through life always angry and negative. I haven't been able to get rid of my love for metal, but I primarily listen to classical now. I still listen to metal on occasion to elevate my energy levels (pump me up, especially before workouts), but classical is what I mostly listen to. I listen to some jazz too. But I also like classical rock and other 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, and 00's pop hits.

I love it how you gave screamo a spot in the poll, even tho it's just a subgenre of emo, which is a subgenre of hardcore punk, which is a subgenre of punk, which is a subgenre or rock. :D

How in the hell do you fit in "screamo" but miss out both metal and punk?

Also, what does screamo have to do with deathcore?

I have no idea what screamo is. I just figured it was porn. ;)

I thought Screamo was just a sub-genre of Metal that has streaks of Punk in it?

Not really, no; screamo is an evolution of emo, itself a sub-genre of hardcore punk originally know as "emotional hardcore". I suspect that, like the OP, you're confusing it with metalcore, a fusion of metal and harcore punk; some of the more prominent metalcore and deathcore bands have adopted a similar aesthetic (Avenged Sevenfold, Bring Me the Horizon, etc.), which seems to cause some confusion.
It seems to be a non-American thing; we can't quite separate the specific genre/subculture from the broader aesthetic which reached the mainstream at around the same time (and, to be fair, it had a hand in popularising). I suppose the fact that it came out of the US in something of a wave, rather than growing indigenously as it did there, has a lot to do with that.

Classical (Romantic and early 20th Century, usually), Classic Rock, Indie Rock (which deserves a category about twenty times more than "screamo"), modern classical choral music.

Yeah, I was confusing it with metalcore. People use both terms interchangeably.

Classical. Except Mozart. I don't like Mozart. But I love (in that order or preference) Mahler, Sibelius, Mendelssohn, Beethoven/Schubert, Tchaikovsky.

Rock would be my second choice. But older rock. Most modern rock to me sounds a) bad, b) the same. But things like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen... anytime when I'm not listening to classical.

Rap has no followers! Yesss!

METAL

:p

Seriosuly though...not a great poll, sorry to the op but you've missed alot out, I defintely think of myself as a metaller and there's no metal option etc. Wheres the grunger? wheres the hair metaller? wheres the punk? etc.
