Hey that's my wife you're talking about!! (IIRC)
Yeah, but if you're a werewolf you don't get the "Lover's Embrace" bonus (or the Rested/Well Rested bonus). So I assume if you want to marry Aela you need to go ahead with the lycanthropy (because the Circle people won't adventure with you if you don't) and then go find the cure. I don't know what the cure is, though. Maybe there's a fun quest to be quested there.

The cure comes up during the Companion quest line. You have to find it for an NPC, and you get enough that you can use it on yourself.

If you do avail yourself of the cure, which you'll already know about OOCly if you're interested in the lore, don't forget to get the related achievements first. :)

I don't recall the 'real' cure in Oblivion. On the one occasion I actually wanted to cure it, I used the Purgeblood Salts in the DLC assassin hideout.

I use an excellent vampire mod (Slof's Aundae mod), so I don't usually feel the need to cure the vanilla vampirism after the fact. :p

On that note when you do the quest for the NPC MAKE SURE YOU TAKE THE DUPLICATE HEADS BECAUSE IF YOU LEAVE THEM IN THE CAVE THEY DISAPPEAR AND YOU'LL BE STUCK AS A WEREWOLF FOREVER.

Now that we're on Oblivion, I started using horses. It was...nice. I mean, yeah, probably subsequent games had better horses. But it was nice. Gimmick? Yeah. Cool gimmick? I'd say so.

What do you mean started? The game's a nice place for what it is, but it takes forever to walk everywhere.

To be fair, until like, level 20 I just used fast travel everywhere. I must admit that I may have been missing out on some things.

Ugh. I so rarely fast travel I might as well say 'never'.

Yeah, I must admit I kinda regret this decision. With the Immersive Needs mod it really makes the game much more interesting.

Admittedly, I do like using fast mounts, but I also use a dynamic timescale adjuster, so time passes more quicker outdoors than it does indoors and even more quickly when out in the wilds. It helps drive home the exploration aspect and obscure the necessarily limited play area.

It probably says something about me that I had all the heads stuffed in a box at home before I even realised you could use them outside of that quest. I just figured, hey, free heads.

 I'm usually like this too, but made a (stupid) exception in that case.

I mean, I try to collect all the books in the game, I end up with dozens of ebony ingots, daedra hearts, Steam Centurion cores, and so on stashed at home that never actually get used for anything.

I mean, why would I try to collect all the books? So I can impress NPCs with the breadth of my library?

I was more of the opinion that I'd impress potential partners with the dozens of priceless artefacts shoved into onre of the downstairs crates in Breezehome. It's somewhat silly when you can probably buy the entire city with the treasures you have stashed away somewhere.

Get the Enhanced Economy mod. It's almost entirely customisable to choke loot hauls and comes with various optional ESPs to increase the price of houses.
