It wasn't a quick game? :p

LOL...it was quick enough. I got about as far as seeing my axemen that look exactly like my neighbor's axemen. By then searching through nooks and crannies to find information that BUG gathers and presents in an organized manner was already wearing on my nerves, so that was the last straw.

Ah, well. I don't consider a modded game to mean BUG. :)

I've been playing Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Really fun game. I hated the first Deus Ex so I was a little worried but it's been fun. The CASIE augment is weird and I think I fundamentally misunderstand how it works but the psychological analyses are neat.

Beyond that, my biggest gripe is that there are only one or two side quests per hub. I guess it makes sense, the story and experience is meant to be pretty linear, but a lot of the time I find myself wanting more. Which is good!

Yeah, now there is likely to be a few long disappearances. BUG and Better BAT AI installed.

Is your version a stand alone or one of the package deals like "complete"?

I have complete on disk around here, but opted to rebuy complete from GoG and that's what I have installed this time. Seems to be no negative interactions in the GoG version, at least with BUG/BAT.

Yeah, I got the complete from GoG too and had no issues with bat.
So the version you have has colonization with it.
When I get tired of BTS every now and then I try colonization but use the Religion and Revolution mod since the basic game really doesn't work. It's a fun diversion. I'm doing that now. I'll go back to bts eventually (when I get tired of COL) ;)
I do recommend it. And it is free since you've already got it.

I've played it a lot. I wouldn't have said the unmodded game doesn't work, but I did switch to TAC and never went back. Maybe this time I'll try R&R. Thanks for the tip.

Just went to finish my half done game of Stellaris last night, only to find that the producers have went live with with the new patch that fixes so much of the broken stuff. Yay!

Sadly, it broke my save. Back to the drawing board. :(

I'm glad I've held off on starting a new game then. Wouldn't have wanted all that time wasted.

Thanks for the info on stellaris LM.

And I assume that means you recommend the Tac mod Tim?

Yeah, I liked it. It was the only Colonization mod that I tried though, so I can't offer a comparative endorsement.

Most welcome. I've been playing with the 2.02 beta patch, which is the formal release that they just put out. It really fixes a lot of things, and I'm enjoying it quite a lot. The new official 2.02 patch fixed even more things based on player feedback to the beta patch I was playing, judging by the change log, so that can only be a good thing. I'm sad about my save game, but I'm looking forward to the new official improvements in my next game.

I think I'll play one of the little otter people this time... :)

I like playing as the adorable newt people (Fanatic Xenophile Pacifists) or as the tentacle-faced molluscoid species (Authoritarian Spiritualist Xenophobes), which I think look very similar to illithids.

I hated the first Deus Ex

Ending to Deus Ex: Human Revolution sucked. The two choices are presented in a vacuum and deny all the context of the game. Otherwise a good game.
