What was your first ever computer game?

Narrowing down my first would be difficult, as I'm not certain which I played first, but it would be one of the three: Police Quest, King's Quest III, or some DOS Pool game, the name escapes me.

The first one I truly played was Lords of the Realm II, back in I think 1996 or 7 when my parents got their first real computer (as in not a terricrap Apple II)

After that came Age of Empires I

Yep, Owen's post is the same as my beginnings. I loved those games. I also ended up getting Lords of Magic, which was cool.

I got a bunch of games free with my first computer. Of those, the only two I can remember were the first Wing Commander (which was, and indeed still is, awesome) and D/Generation (which was reasonably good).

Is it just me or does Age of Empire 1 still look good graphics wise?

To stay on topic: Space invaders was probably the first game I tried on a PC, I also have fond memories of playing The Incredible Machine at a friends house.

Two years later i got my Amiga, with 1024 KB ram :)

My first three games there were:

Prehistoric (platform game)

Rodland (buble-bobble styled game)

And the third was the wonderful strategy game Centurion: Defender of Rome.

Killer Comet, VIC20 freeware game coded in Basic. Amazing you can find this kind of stuff from the Internet.:crazyeye:

Age of Empires 1 still looks good... If you play it on a 14 inch screen in 800X600.

Also woot woot Lords of the Realm II. I actually got this game again on gog.com along with Lords of Magic.

wow! You can get the lot for 6 bucks! Sounds good to me!

Dead serious, my first game was Pong, on an old Apple PC in the early 90s. :) (yes I'm aware the game is much older)

I'd forgotten about Pong, so I suppose the first ever computer game I played was the original Pong console when it was first introduced. A friend of my father's owned an electrical store and was trying to decide whether to sell them or not and wanted the opinion of someone who had kids. We decided it was pretty boring and needed to do more if it was going to catch on.

My first was probably Solitaire or Tetris :D.
As real games...if consoles count, then Sonic the hedgehog 1, for PCs it was C&C 2 Red Alert. Brilliant at this time. Not long afterwards Anno 1602, Diablo and Fallout followed.
Somehow in the past the games were better :( (yeah, probably wrong impression, but still...).

SimCity 2000: I played it on a Wal-Mart display computer.

lolstalgia is fine. That's basically the point of this subforum anyway, whether it's true or not.

Wow Kyriakos, does your first game change every year ?

Anyway i only remember the first computer game that i saw being played: Warcraft 1.
