What We Know About Brave New World

@ Martinus and otaman1
What are your links for the news on the posts on July 3?

This?:
Spoiler :
- Ethiopia is included in this expansion
- National Wonder: Solomon Mines - yields 6 production
- Tear of Gods - +2 Faith from each Gems or Pearls resource
- Château - +2 culture and +2 gold; extra culture and gold with flight; cannot be built adjacent to each other; must be built next to a luxurious resource; provides a defensive bonus; only the French may build it
- Mughal Fort - Provides +2 tourism after Flight is researched; City must have walls
- Polish Winged Hussar starts with Shock I, Formation I, & Heavy Charge
- Artifacts can be swapped
- Ife (City-State)

It's in the BNW files. A good friend of mine told me these.

The onyl wrong thing is that it's a Natural Wonder and not National Wonder (the Solomon Mines)
Ife IS a City-State (I believe it's religious
Artifacts can be swappped (that was known for a while if anybody paid attention to the screenshots/clips, they use the "Painting" slots

Yeah I know. It was a typo cause you know .. Natural and National sounds identical

Here's what I got from the Beyond the Monuments-videos:
Declaration of war-screen - info on allies, active deals and trade routes with this city.

The three new great person types are separated from the original great persons which means the price for them doesn't go up when you spawn one of the original great persons.

Artifacts (and most likely all other masterpieces) are lost if you don't have any space for them in your buildings.

Far more penalty for selling resources and attacking afterwards (guess that's for borrowing money and then attacking or selling resources to friends you have a declared friendship with since its impossible to sell resources for gold poet turn otherwise.

Now you will get a small penalty in science for expanding your empire (don't like this) while culture penalty has been reduced.

You can always sell your luxury and strategic resources for gold per turn. You can only sell them them for a lump sums of gold if you have a DoF.

Yes, I forgot to mention that part from MD's videos. 1 GPT trades for 30 gold on standard speed, unlike G&K which is only 22.5 gold per 1 GPT. That's, of course, when they don't hate you.

Sorry, meant lump sum of course :)

And if you have DoF you van exchange lump sum gold for gpt ... without interest.
Yes, you don't even need a DoF for that AFAIK, just as long as they don't hate you. I don't really support this idea as I don't find it realistic that anyone would just lend you money without interests unless you have a DoF.

IIRC, the tool tip in one of the screenshots explicitly said that you need a DoF for any trade that involves a lump sum.

Here, look at Pohokwi. It has no walls, so it has no health bar and the musketmen directly attack Commanche Riders in the city. Here, you can see that Pohokwi, which has no unit inside, can still launch a ranged attack and has a marked strength referring to its ranged strength. From that same link, you can see Onandaga has city walls, strength, and a health bar.

You are welcome. I hope that clears things up.

You do know he's playing as the Shoshone AND he was taking his turn? So no, it isn't changed.

He attacked the musketman with his Comanche Raider and probably attacked ONadanga earlier on... not to mention that would be WAY too flaky to be a feature.

It's patently false that cities no longer have HP without defensive buildings.

Move along folks, nothing to see here (nor is it a discussion thread).

The Netherland's ability is now called "Dutch East India Company", I'm assuming to avoid confusion with the new National Wonder.

Impi upgrade to Riflemen. (Pikemen still do not.)

- Arabia: Ships of the Desert: Oil provides double quantity (same as before)
- Iroquois: The Great Warpath
- Pathfinder: Upgrades to a Composite Bowman instead of an Archer; keeps all of its promotion when upgraded
- Siege Tower: Melee siege unit
- Heathen Conversion: Missionaries convert adjacent barbarians to this civilization
- Religious Art now gives +5 Tourism to the Hermitage in addition to +5 Culture
- Religious Texts now spreads you religion 25% faster (50% with Printing Press)
- Hand-Axe: Barbarian-only replacement for the Chariot Archer

What..? Didn't Arabia have something with religious spread? Has that been removed and the old one taken back?

Is Heathen Conversion a new religious founder or follower? Just thought there was this new pantheon belief as the only new religious change except from the reformation social policy. Or is it a reformation thing?

As far as I know reformation gives you a new religious belief slot just like Byzantium. But does Byzantium still have that one extra even if they pick reformation?

This might be totally wrong, but playing as Byzantium you can choose to get:
- Pantheon
- Founder
- Follower 1
- Follower 2
- Founder 2 (or whatever it is called)
- Byzantium special bonus ability
- Reformation belief: Here they can choose the one that gives you a competitors pantheon
- Pantheon belief of your competitor

So in total they could technically have 8 religious benefits as the only civ, though the reformation belief only being used to open that extra pantheon belief - am I wrong here? Maybe someone can confirm this...

No. I'm just adding that in cause Bite missed that. The +1 Gold from each trade route has been removed in BNW. As for the Heathen Conversion, it's a Reformation Belief. In order to get a Reformation Belief, you have to adopt the Reformation policy on the Piety tree. And no, there are not 8 religious benefits. There's the Pantheon, and then Founder Beliefs, then Follower Beliefs. Then when you enhanced your religion, you get a 2nd Follower Belief and an Enhancer Belief. The Byzantines gets the Bonus Belief. Then choosing the Reformation policy in the Piety tree will grant you the last (7) belief.

Anyway, on topic.

Honor tree:
Warrior Code: +15% Production when training Melee units and a Great General appears outside the Capital. Great Generals are earned 25% faster
Professional Army: Gold cost of upgrading Military Units reduced by 33%. Construct Barracks, Armories, and Military Academies 50% faster
