What would you do if you could travel in a time machine?

What if you suddenly had access to a time machine that you could travel backwards and forwards in time? You are limited to a single round trip.

Would you go back in time to try to change some important event or go forward to see the future?

Either time travel to 1980 America or Asia or the Wild West. I've always loved the 1980's and want to experience the decade again as an adult. Yet I've also had the fantasy of being a lone gunslinger in the Wild West killing bad guys.

Problem is, places I want to go English is unheard of. However, assuming I had the technology to go back in time, I'm sure there would be some kind of universal translator available to me.

I'd go back to 30ad, Jerusalem, and find out what really happened. With a tape recorder.

I'd hit all the major highlights in history. And I'd probably spend a lot of time over here seeing how my ancestors lived. It seems rather romantic now, but I know the reality of it wasn't quite that bright. But still, it would be something to see.
