I'd rather be 18. Yeah, it means crap like being a legal adult...but with all the talk in politics and not even the vote, it was maddening.

Of course, the Board of Elections here with its stupid rules that prevented me from voting this past Tuesday in the primaries is another maddening matter...

25 is the perfect age. Physically, its all downhill from there. Mentally is another matter.

That's a good point; I'm really excited about voting. I can't wait until my idealism is forced between two choices. It'll give me a nice lesson about government.

What I like about being 16 is that I pretty much get all the benefits of childhood and adulthood. I am still loved and pampered by my mother, but she is very close to respecting me as an equal. The two can conflict, but usually they don't.

Length of marriage and age don't have to be in direct corelation. Padma may have married at 35 and be 66. I on the other hand could have married at 17 and be in my 40s.

In any case 31 years is a long time Padma and worthy of celebration.

For the record, I will be 51 this fall.

My oldest grandson is 12.

And I first met my wife 33 years ago when I was a high school senior. We're still in love, and are looking forward to the resto of our lives together.
