What is you favorite Spanish letter excluding those ones also found in English? Personally, mine is en-yeh(ñ). It just sounds cool and tildes over letters are cool.

I don't know any Spanish, or very little at least, but the "LL" looks neat . . .

I don't know Spanish either, as I only stated taking it last semester.

:D
Damn. I think I enjoyed the thread with the missing poll much more... ok, ok, I'll vote for the tilde thingie.

Llo dude, the "LL" is da best thing llou have eva seen. Word.

Mi llamo es Esteban. Soy de Alameda, de California, de Estadios Unidos. !Denise Richards es muy caliente!

My name is Steven. I am from Alameda, Califronia, United States. Denise Richards is very hot!

I've always wondered how the Spanish language started:

"Okay, amigos, I have called you all to discuss the creation of a language, one that shall be better than English in every way, including the number of letters! Any ideas?"
"How about an 'n' with a squigly line over it?"
"Excellent!"
"Ooh, ooh, and we could combine their c and h to form one letter: ch! It'd appear no different than an 'h' following a 'c,' and would make young students around the world wonder what the hell the point of it is!"
"Great!"
"How about combining two l's to form ll? It's even more pointless than ch! And we could have rr too, I suppose."
"You're right; even better! Our plan for world domination is complete! Oh, and while we're at it, let's make one entreé and rename it seven different words, and sell each one to the Americans!"

I guess Ñ (and ñ) is the best.

Ch is found in English. We just don't consider it a unique letter -- and Spanish no longer does either, iirc.

^that's the truth

The Academy of the Spanish Language doesnt consider "ll" unique anymore either.

I personally are indifferent about them, and feel that it is stupid that American students are required to take Spanish or any other foreign language.

just to note, the rr letter is the one used a lot to roll r's.

The enne (ñ) is the best. The squiggly line is nice.

in my school, we have a dealie on the wall with all the Spanish letters, and ll and ch are up there. then again, Californian schools are vastly underfunded(stupid Prop. 13).

español es estúpido y los creadores se deben quemar en Infierno...jk

anyways i have to say the rr because i always get a few laughs when i try and do it

they are probably still up there because they still have a certain sound to them, but i'm pretty sure they got rid of the letters in 1996 or so.

The decesion has only been made in the past few years. Many modern texts and dictionaries still treat them specially. In my Spanish course (second year), we treat them specially.
