What's your favourite kind of bread?

Freshly baked, not from the supermarket. I'll eat any bread so long as it tastes nice. At the moment we have a very nice ciabatta bread loaf from a local farm shop.

Ciabatt. 10char

Generally Italian.

IIRC, Ciabatt is that bread which comes in smaller packages, but has much large slices, and has a sorta white coating on the crust?

Yes. The white coating is flour. Ciabatt is spelt normally as "Ciabatta", and normally pronounced really badly, like "see-uh-bat-tuh" or something ridiculous like that. It should be pronounced either as "chah-batt" or "chah-batt-ah".

it always seems to me that outside switzerland/austria/germany nobody makes any bread that I really like :(

sure, baguette is fine, but it gets boring after a time, same with ciabatta :(

my personal favourite is Ruchbrot (I have no idea how you translate that). looks somewhat like this.

and don't get me started on toast, it's just ugh :cringe: bread wasn't meant to be all squishy

fresh, normal bread, straight from the supermarket.

That doesn't tell us much - every country/culture has their own "normal" style of bread.

Over here in North America, fluffy white toasty stuff is considered bread. It's a travesty, really. You can take an entire loaf and squeeze it down to a ball the size of a marble.

My favourite kind of bread is freshly baked polish rye.

Same here. Bread just doesn't taste quite right outside the Germanic realm.

Fully agreed, especially on toast!

That's the only thing I don't like about that bread, the white coating gives it a weird taste. The bread itself is awesome.

Corn Bread FTW!!

Normal bread toasted with peanut butter or butter is good to though...
