Don't pester me, boy. You don't want to mess with a jedi with two lightsabers now do you? Didn't think so.:yeah:

Your favorite position is sitting on the sidelines? Thats weird; its exhibitionism at an exhibition. I guess the possibilty for arrest hightens the thrill. Watch out for the cornerback!

1) "I will argue but only if i feel REALLY strongly about it...." at this site i try to be friendly, mainly because because i find the threads here are repeting themselves, but also because my english actually sucks. it takes too long time to actually get involved. however, at a swedish forum i really kicked some nazi/revisionist's (strange combo actually) ass, mainly because of what i've learned here. that guy finally agreed with everything i wrote, my greatest e-victory ever.

2) doggy with cowboy moves. :D :yeah:

You know, I've been posting here for over a year now (as of Feb 8), and I think this is the first time I've ever disrupted a thread enough to get it closed. And I wasn't even intending to... :crazyeye:

At this point, I think this thread has probably had it. :nuke:

Form that "Animal in You" website (remember the thread about it?) (www.animalinyou.com) --My animal persona, the bear:

"Two elements define the bear's style of debate. Never avoid an argument and never back down. Bears will batter their opponents into submission just for the endorphin rush -- for there's nothing a bear enjoys more than pitting every drop of its intellectual juices against the mind of a worthy opponent."

Well, I think I'm milder than that usually (I try to be), but yes, I love a good argument. However, it also says:

"However, it is unwilling to argue from a position that it doesn't truly believe in, which makes it a lousy lawyer."

That's me too. I can't take "the devil's advocate" position too easily if I don't personally agree with it. In that way, I guess I either argue from the heart, or don't bother. And I've always said I couldn't be a lawyer, because I'd have to sometimes argue from positions I'd feel uncomfortable arguing from, or worse....

My choice doesn't exist in the poll!

Mostly, I enjoy reading at CFC.
IF, I choose to debate, I often wade in to represent the side that I do not agree with.

An old highschool teacher once taught me that I'd learn more about WHY and HOW I came about feeling the way I do, and come to APPRECIATE the opinions of the other side, if I choose to debate for the other side.

Iraq is a good recent example.
I've made 3-5 anti-war posts with some real thought.
I've only made 1 very simple pro-war post.

It's probably not obvious that I'm really pro war.

On the lighter side: I plead the fifth.

I usually read through what other people have written, and if there is something still to be said which hasn't been said yet, or if I have some thoughts about the argument, then I post what I think. However, I don't get involved in arguments, I just can't be bothered. On issues like Iraq for example, it is generally impossible to change somebody's opinion, so it's just a waste of time.

sgrig, definately with you. There a half a million different opinions on why the Americans have a hard-on for Saddam. The truth is, only a handful of people really know the truth about most things that come up, that just leaves the rest of us to marvel at the sound of our own voices. The time will come when each of us might actually know something about a certain argument... chances are it will go unnoticed.

Most of the time I get a gun and continue shooting untill everybody who lives agrees with me. Most of the time, I'm all alone
