What's Your Political Compass?

I decided to take the test again since the last time was ages ago, and I think I got more liberal.

Economic Left/Right: 0.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.72

I've moved to the left and slight more libertarian as well.

The link in the OP is not working. The address works, but the link does not go there.

Most recently:
Economic Left/Right: 0.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.82

The Libertarian value has always stayed around there, but left/right varies a little. It is usually around +0.50, but varies from about -0.2 to +1. Other political tests have put me as more economically right than libertarian.

Today results:

Economic Left/Right: -3.12
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.38

Funny as I'm seeing myself right wing.

Right wing in France, perhaps? Still, the test needs to be updated I think.

Seeing as how I'm a conservative atheist who believes in evolution and dislikes gays all at the same time, I would have to say my political compass is broken....... :D

Forget the Political Compass!
I took this test for several times now and by my experience it never shows you an accurate result!
Measured against what? Your judgement of yourself?

I agree with that but I don't think that self-judgement is necessarily accurate either.

C'mon take it anyway. I suspect you sum as a centrist, just with off-center components.

Why not? I know myself the best. And I think that the Political Compass is biased to the left to begin with.

Probably a teeny bit, but not as much as Gandhi and Nader!

Yes.
IMO the Political Compass is not very reliable, more like a fun test, but in no way a tool which helps to determine your stance on the political spectrum itself.

I think it's fairly reasonable, but it's not necessarily an accurate prediction of what your political party leanings are. If politics is a compromise, we still chip in with something that isn't an exact carbon copy of what we are. But maybe the trend of our results over many months might indicate a direction, and thereby a party preference?

We're certainly not drowning in Houston Oilers fans, for one. (For those who don't know it's an American football team which hasn't existed in decades).

BtW that was an excellent catch GoodGame - definitely shows how the Senate as a whole is more conservative (or closer to the "American center", as would be expected of a wider electorate).

12 years is hardly "decades". ;)

Agree. God help us, what kind of question is "are the rich taxed too heavily"? Wouldn't it depend on the actual tax system? Why not ask whether one supports progressive or regressive taxation?! :suicide:

EDIT: Obviously, I am right on top of Bast. That is scary. We had the exact same result is some religion-related test as well. :shifty:

I'm counting you in the cool quad. We need to get aelf, but IIRC he's a dirty socialist.

See signature. It's surprisingly close to MagisterCultuum, that's crazy.
A little more personal responsibility in economics and you can be in the cool quad too.
