When did you start to shave regularily? (only if you're man & shave for some time)

Every other day. 19 years old.

16 i think though regularly is an overstatement as it varies depending on my mood and normally whether i can be arsed

The 3-blade Mach3 is what I use, water, no shaving cream. They put a little bit of aloe or something into the blade so it slow-releases, I think. Works adequately for me.

I got a free Mach3 on my 18th birthday in the mail lol. All my friends got them too, some got the turbo, though, it wasn't out when I turned 18. I'm 23 now, still use it. I started using shaving cream recently though, and aftersave. My face feels 1 million times better than with just water.

I had a dirty stache when i was about 14-15 that needed to be shaved, but its taking quite a while for the rest of the hair on my face to come in. By 18 i was shaving my stache/chin regularly, now I need to shave my whole face every couple of days if I don't want to get scruffy.

At 16 every week.
Now at 18 it could be every 3 days, but Im lazy and let it grow for a week or so. I get crazy pimples, and I think its partly cause of shavin, so I try not to shave when I can avoid. I use Gillette cream and razors to shave.

I started shaving regularly at 19 (twice in three weeks) and now at 22 I shave once in four days. Not a very hairy man am I. :)

12. yes 12. i had a mustache when i was 12.

Around 15 or so I guess. I'm 24 now, and I still can't grow it into a proper beard. I can do a goatee, 'tache and sideburns, but there are big bald patches when I grow it on my cheeks, which make me look like a radiation victim.

14 or so. I rememeber to shave when I am conctoing an evil plan and I'm stroking my chin and I feel that a beard has grown. What!? An evil genius cannot have a beard, its ridiculous.

Sideburns vex me....greatly, they look like I have dirt on my face and I usually shave off one side more then another.

i am 14 and shave... not because i have an overgrowth of hair but because the hair i do grow on my face comes out weird.... my chin has like 20 hairs that just stick out and it looks really UGLY! so i shave it :)

could pluck 20 hairs

Therefore, I should shave every day, but I'm lazy so I often go two or three days without shaving. Oddly, I don't have much facial hair but the hair I do have grows very quickly. I also use an electric razor and don't spend much time shaving even when I do, so I don't cut the hair down all the way. Plus, my skin feels irritated when I completely shave it. Though I'm a Caucasian male (with mnostly Germanic blood but also with a drop of Celtic) I don't even need to shave my mustache area and I can't grow a true beard (it's basically black stuble), but then again, I'm only seventeen.

I started to shave on an irregular basis my sophmore year of high school (15). This slipped into a sensible every-other day pattern I held until I got into college. Now, in my second year of college, I shave every day, and because of that, I now NEED to shave every day. The daily shave comes courtesy of Navy ROTC.

About 30. It sucked having to actually start shaving. I was quite happy with my Native American genetic suppression of facial hair. I still can't grow a full beard. But now I pretty much have to shave everyday or I'll end up with this scraggly mess of random whiskers across my jaw and cheeks.

I was about 15 when I first really needed to pick up the razor, due to some darker mustache hair. But, genetically I don't grow facial hair very fast, nor very thick. So, even in my late 20s, I can get away with shaving only twice a week (but just barely - it helps that I work pretty much with no supervision), 3 times for the mustache.

(Facial) shaving is pretty lame. It's a hassle. I consider myself fortunate. Most guys have it a lot worse. Theirs grows in thicker, more dense, and faster. I mean, if you wanna grow a beard, that's great - otherwise, it sucks.

I've seriously considered electrolysis. It's not out of the question.

at 20, and even then it wouldn't have been necessary.

But being in the army, we had to shave daily  of course due to the regular shaving my facial hair started growing much stronger, which is why I coulnd't stop shaving once I was out of bootcamp

Maybe I should send them my gillette-bills :mischief:

I had a very similar experience. I'm convinced, though - that if you try to start slowing down the frequency of your shaving, you can gradually slow down the rate of hair growth.

For example, when I got out of boot camp, I needed to shave at least every other day. But, I kept 'pushing the limit', and after many years (of going around with a barely noticable not-so-fresh-shave) I now only shave twice a week, almost like I was before boot camp.

Plus, you can just clean your blades in isopropyl alcohol, and they'll last about 4-5 times longer. That, and use liquid vitamin A on your face (smoothens/tightens the skin), and you almost never need to replace blades.

I only replace my blades, when they are literally falling apart on the sides. Long after the rubber, pads, etc. has been worn away. Typically a Mach 3 razor blade lasts me 6 or 7 months. I could go longer, easily - but I figure that's good enough, let's get a fresh blade. But I could probably go 9 or 10 months, with no problem if I wanted to. I may be thrifty, but I'm not poor.

At 13, end of 2003. I shave evry sunday atm, but I could shave every other day if I wanted.
