When reading on the internet...

nope... however i have done this when reading long posts and trying to find a point for rebuttle... :yup:
piece

No, I just read it.

I've never done that, or even considered it.

I expected to see a lot of replys to the effect of "you must be crazy, nobody does that," but this thread apparently has taught me not to put much stock in expectations.

No, I've never even thought about doing that.

I have a friend who does, though, and it bugs the heck out of me when he tells me to read something he found funny and starts constantly moving the mouse around.

yeah

it's like writing something down: the very act of doing it helps you remember it; even if the action itself doesn't help you much

Only if it's a huge wall of text without any indentations and such. However, that's only after I try reading it normally and find that I'm having trouble going to the right line after I finish a line.

Only to keep my spot if I leave the room.

The only time I might do that is if the text coloring is very hard to make out against the background, ex. blue against black, but I just highlight the whole page for that. Other than that, no I don't. Never thought of it, either, though.

I'm the same here; I can only think of two occassions where I had to do this to read the text.

Sometimes I move the mouse as I read to follow along with the text, but I don't highlight. And I only do it sometimes.

Nein.

Diez Letras.

Sometimes but generally for when the colour is hard to make out

I'm with the hardly ever crowd.
