When you think of swedes...

vikings i guess. thats all that came from sweden anyway. i guess.

I think two things right away:
-105% taxes.
-irrational socialized medicine
Example of the second below:

A Swedish heavy metal fan has had his musical preferences officially classified as a disability. The results of a psychological analysis enable the metal lover to supplement his income with state benefits.

Roger Tullgren, 42, from Hässleholm in southern Sweden has just started working part time as a dishwasher at a local restaurant.

Because heavy metal dominates so many aspects of his life, the Employment Service has agreed to pay part of Tullgren's salary. His new boss meanwhile has given him a special dispensation to play loud music at work.

On a historical note, the most well known swedish in France : Raoul Nordling
He was the swedish consul in Paris in august 1944. That's thanks to his intervention with the german general von Choltitz that Paris didn't get destroyed when Hitler ordered so. He also contributed to free thousands of prisoners that should have been deported to germany or executed.

He also sent his brother with a message for the allies urging them to come to Paris before something bad happens. Originally, the allies were planning to bypass Paris to avoid endless streetfights. Following this message, Bradley gave the permission to Leclerc to liberate the city. He was then the main mediator between Leclerc and von Choltitz to organize the german surrender, avoiding much spilled blood.

When I think of Swedes, I think of Vasa dinasty and bloody wars Poland had with Sweden. Sweden = XVII / XVIII century wars.

When I think of the Swedes, I think of their interesting judiciary system. ...That's pretty much it.

Oh, that and I think about those guys from 'Little Gamers'. They're Swedish, right?

Blonde hair, loves meatballs. Oh, and Ikea. And the vegetable, of course.

Peter Forsberg, the city of Örnsköldsvik (see #1), MODO, Mats Sundin, Borje Salming, Hockey, Raoul Wallenberg, and more importantly, long legged blondes who are very 'comfortable' with their bodies. and Ikea.

Blonde hair, tall, and kind of taciturn. Also likes Ikea furniture. Dislikes foreigners who threaten to soak up his socialist benefits.

When I think about Sweden, I see decay. Todays Sweden is country without values and honor, and sadly many european countries are following this destructive example. (Im talking about too much immigration from totally alien cultures / feminism and gayrights going simply too far etc.)

I allthough think that there is a lot of good things in history of Sweden - vikings and stuff.
