Which country is the most nationalistic?

Thread about most nationalistic countries degrades into petty nationalistic fighting.

I blame the Greeks.

USA #1

fixed

I am too much of a nationalist to have time for meaningless chatter about Alexander. Not even Leoreth being in the thread gives me enough incentive :mischief:
Haha, I even agree with you about Fyromania. I mean, they're the only country who have to steal the history they're nationalistic about ;)

The Greeks are still too easily trolled by this :mischief:

Well, Leoreth must be right then  :

I actually laughed out loud at this :D

Well, see Americans may seem nationalistic, but the fact is America is the greatest country in the world so they're just making a cool, unbiased assessment.

Cool ? as in the sense of no central heating in the tent cities ?

If I could arrive from another planet assured of instantly having the mean income and assets of the country of arrival , America would be a tough one to beat ( excluding oddities like Lichenstein or Monaco for instance) .

But if I received the median or was just randomly assigned any social status , I don't think I would risk choosing the USA

Making income the only metric is quite fallacious.

I didn't , you've assumed I did . If there were a whole lot of things I couldn't stand about the USA (or better put , a lack of things to enthuse me) then I wouldn't take that option regardless of the financial benefits . But since I happen to like the place (culture , people , natural beauty etc) , I feel that in combination with the standard of living I would instantly be afforded given the mean American income , I could have a good life .

If someone says Germans don't have a sense of humour, I don't go "HOW DARE YOU, we had the Comedian Harmonists!" or whatever, I just say "I think my sense of humour is just fine, thank you".

And I bet you say it real stoically to, dontcha? ;)

The hell is a "Fyromania"?

Edit: Wait, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, right?

I just shorten it to "Macedonia". Makes much more sense that way.

After all, we don't call the Spanish "The Kingdom of Spanish" or "KOSPians"1; we don't call Greeks "Hellenes Republicans" or "HellReps"2 do we? That'd just be silly!

As such, describing the Nazis as "chauvinist, not nationalist" seems rather like describing them as "fascist, not statist".

Judging by the great extent to which people sometimes apply the terms, could the Italian Regency of Carnaro be an example of where this is the case? :)

1 - Totes calling Spaniards "KOSPians" now.
2 - Totes calling Greeks "HellReps" now.
