Death is natural, so death is good. Yay!

Erectile dysfunction is natural, so erectile dysfunction is good. Yay!

Baldness is natural, so baldness is good. Yay!

Pissing your pants is natural, so pissing your pants is good. Yay!

Nightmares are natural, so nightmares are good. Yay!

I think you get the point.

Well, why single out the urge to reproduce? Everyone has other urges, to a greater or lesser degree, to do other things - like take resources at the expense of others. Many of those who don't believe in God would not steal.

That doesn't make any sense, for your God created me and gave me all those urges and instincts in the first place! So why does he now punish people for something which he caused to be part of the human nature?

I didn't make it up, I just go to Church. I'm not one of those guys who pretends to have all the answers. Go ask a priest.

Right, so, according to the Catholic Church, lust is never preferable, just like death.
What does my intristcic, god-given urges have to do with burning for all eternity in hell then?

No, I won't. Simply because I don't need somebody who makes up my own mind about how I belief the world works.

I hope this back-and-forth argumentation leads to anything at its end...

Why is lust bad?
Your assertion that, because it was a "natural urge", it can't be bad was wrong -- clearly, natural things can be bad.

Now, if you want to argue with Catholics as to why lust is bad, then go find a priest. But don't insist that natural urges can't be bad, because they clearly can.

Yes, hate, anger and the urge of taking revenge are obviously negative. Just, you know, lust is generally fun IMO...
Same reason the other six are. Because the Catholic Church said so.
Now I see. I dismiss my case and close my suitcase.

Then why did you bring up natural urges, if it had nothing to do with the morality of those urges

Because the labeling of those urges like lust or sloth as "Deadly Sins", when they aren't any bad things at all. That's like accusing a typical Swedishman of being blond and blue-eyed for mocking other people, when it is clearly his normal nature.

You made 2 claims:

1. That lust cannot be a sin because it is a natural urge, or the result of a natural urge.

2. That lust isn't a sin because it doesn't cause harm.

#1 was shown not to be correct (lots of things are natural urges or the result of natural urges), so why are you still using it instead of #2 to argue that lust isn't a sin?

Not everything which is called according to the seven deadly sins a sin, or is in fact really so bad at all. Those seven highlightened sins are altogether just basic, human feelings and urges, but it also within our nature to repress those negative desires and to get a grip on ourselves (for at least a while, and it also depends a lot on your own character too). But scaring people with saying that at the same time an all-loving, all-benevolent being created humankind and yet made it so damn hard to overcome our very own nature to approach him, isn't clearly the right way to go.
