Which is Worse: Trinity/Rev Wright or the Catholic Church

Some people here think Obama should have left his church because his former pastor made some angry comments about the government. Some people think those comments are worse than the Catholic Church's decades long attempt to cover up its pedophile problem. Are they right?

Not really, since they have not killed anyone, unlike the Catholic Church, which makes them worse, but they are certainly a lot better nowadays than they were in their history. But if you are talking about present day, then the WBC is definitely worse, but that is a given.

The Catholic Church had a few scumbags in the organization who were rooted out and disposed of. It does not advocate what hapened and is highly ashamed of it.

It is like you are equating collateral damage and suicide bombers. One is unintentional and regretted while the other is intentional and praised by its supporters. Your fringe left-wing islamofascist-apologist equatist mindset is showing. If you cannot defend your own position, smear others as much as possible seems to be the creed. Sort of a "drag everyone down with you via slander" platform.

This is common among young people lacking education, self awareness and political conviction. Someday, they grow up to realize that not everything is equally sucky and choices must be made.

Maybe the OP doesn't know the concept of Trinitarian Christianity and was simply referring to the church the where the not so nice reverend preached.

I don't hold Rev. Wright against all Baptists, which is what you would have had to have used to make this thread not a troll (and a poor one). Your comparison fails because the two things are not analogous.

If I knew a particular priest was a pedeophile, I would certainly leave that parish.

And I respect the Rev. Wright that Obama used to respect, not the aging egotist who is undermining the very man he helped along (after that man grew beyond himself). I don't agree with Wright on everything, but then I respect a lot of people I disagree with, like Zarn.

Hence I voted that its a rhetorical question.

Context, gentlemen, context. Note who I was refering to. That guy has not seen an un-baised political opinion since he poped out of his momma - that's obvious. Further, his reasoning/logic skills can only be explained by the description I give. This thread is a case in point.

And lets not forget that we are talking about people who spend so much time on fringe left-wing smear sites, that they think foxnews (the number one rated show on cable television - as mainstream as you can get) is a radical propaganda machine but are sure that their favorite 100-hits-per-day blog preaches the truth. They think they have some secret knowledge and the rest of us are idiots. They've one foot in 'loose-change'.

And so, they create completely absurd threads like this to compare a single instance (or even individual!) with an entire instiution while completely disregarding intentions. Typical drivel from the likes of left-wing islamofascist-apologist equatists. Or, as I like to call them: LIEs.

C'mon kids! Don't be a LIE! Be a critical thinker instead.
