There, its all official.. still missing 2 players for optimum.

Abaddon, I added your NES to the page 1 listing on the Orders Due thread.

Many thanks :)

@Sym- You know, IC I understand your motives regarding Lacaille completely, but OOC I have a nasty feeling that you're trying to illegitimize my peripheral claims.

OOC: Everyone is doing nasty diplomatic things to everyone else, or should be, because otherwise they usually end up worse off. In order of general tendency to illegitimize, be underhanded, play factions off against one another, claim the moral high ground and berate others, I'd rate the NiNes players something like this:
  1. Symphony D.
  2. Erik Mesoy
  3. TIE - Disenfrancised, TerrisH
  4. TIE
  5. Cleric
  6. Massive Attack
  7. germanicus12
  8. BananaLee
  9. alex994
  10. Nylan
  11. MadDogOfMI
  12. Lord_Iggy

(20:50:27) Cleric: You really are evil though and manipulative. I've never thought of you as that.
(20:50:43) Cleric: But that's godd > : D
(20:50:47) Cleric: good*
(20:51:17) Cleric: A wise policy

Oh, I'd have comments for sure, you really don't know half of it. But I guess I shouldn't say anything... ;)

*rollseyes*, claim the moral highground? When your being pushed around by a bloc that includes Furians (nice people, just well known to be aggressive), the Nekomi (started the only war so far for little apparent reason), and the self proclaimed hegemon its pretty safe to say who the underdog is :).

Moral highground and being the underdog are seperate things.

Editing: so when is the LINES2 update supposed to be.

Oh boy.. I hat to disappoint you, but the Nekomi do not play the game that way. we don't trick, and we sure don't play around. we are predators, after all.

What the hell is a preditor XD

I know, but it cracked me up. The word preditor just sounds so funny.

Very true, luckily I have both if they attack ;).

After a rampant case of hypocrisy, a complaint that would have amounted to "squat and sue the police for violence when they throw one out", a moan that I have a large fleet when the USC's fleet is larger and they were essentially built by Shuurai... no, mister Anderfrancised, I'm afraid you are severely mistaken.

If a war starts, it'll be you who does it, because your ships will have bombarded either the Furian or Emergent colony, or your drones will have gone amok. We (E+F) will of course defend ourselves, and your local commanders will escalate. We will be able to show that you had hostile intent and were secretly purchasing Bioweapons technology from the Capellans. It will be further revealed that your regime stayed in power through oppression and strong information control. Once it has fallen, there will be hundreds of volunteers on holographic talk shows telling every known faction about how they were glad that their leaders started the war, because it meant that the Furians and Emergents could depose the tyrants and set up a new, friendlier government.

Are you worried yet? :)

Edit: Oh, and my publicly declared ESIPA will discover your spies, as they have discovered the spies of the Nekomi and USC, and you will lose what little hope you ever had of having an argument when not only did you cry out against my having spies at all when your own were operating in deep darkness, but also that they carried out various atrocities.

(Props to anyone who catches the source for this, other than Matrix.)

Amused really, I never complained about your fleet though (though I did find you "poor little me, I have the third smallest fleet" funny) everyone can have a fleet as large as they like - my point was that we are not building our fleet as we do not plan any attacks on your bloc, and would in fact be unable to mount such an attack.

To paraphrase Perfectionist's responses, any government which does not spy to some capacity is both stupid and suicidal. The question is therefore not whether a given government spies, but in what capacities and to what degree it does so. :p

That all said, telling people you're going to go about and spy on them, even if they presume you're going to be doing so anyway, does not endear them to you anymore. That just falls under arrogance.

Plus, if you found anything at all, you would know precisely what they happened to be doing too, in which case you would also know that they don't constitute a threat. :p

You fail to realize, Erik, that a player who is successful manipulating others will do it well enough that you will have no idea what is going on, thereby rendering this entire list useless. :p

After all, you can't see what happens in the shadow unless you are deeply entrenched in it yourself ;) You would have to be in on every little "diplomatic nasty thing" for this list to be even half accurate.

true True. Even we nekomi have spies, though they are only really effective within our own borders.

Yeah... I'm horrible at trickery. Simply wretched at it to be honest.

On that note:

And what good would that do me at all? If I wanted to pursue that line I'd side with the native inhabitants and lean on you diplomatically not to colonize. The moment your ship drops it's irrelevent because odds are your people outnumber the survivors and so within a few years it won't matter how angry they are now because by then they'll be assimilated or a very tiny minority.
