While We Wait: Part 3

A commune is a commune, isn't it? In any case, I think I already explained that this isn't it, not any more. So you should drop your anarcho-syndicalism before I start oppressing you. :p
Help, help, I'm being repressed!

If this goes on you shall all see the violence inherent in the system. ;)

Oh, Lord, save us from extended allusions. And bring down Thy Righteous Anger upon the Patriots in the Superbowl...

Assuming it all be Thy will to do so, naturally.

So anyway... I wonder if the Annwfyn will be smashed between two warring kingdoms this turn?

Actually, Thlayli is something of a Patriots fan. (Though I'm not; I wish the Packers had won so that the Patriots had a shot at losing. The Giants haven't much of a chance.) :p

So anyway... I wonder if the Annwfyn will be smashed between two warring kingdoms this turn?

That possibility had occurred to me, but really, it doesn't seem like worth the trouble; the plains to the southwest from Annwfyn appear to be both perfectly traversable and a satisfactory battlefield if need be. Still, if this struggle develops into a long-term conflict, it might expand all over the river network. The way things seem right now that will probably have to be NK's fault, though. ;)

More importantly, looking at das, who should be concerned by the fanatic and devastating effects the Ho'Rin will have on him and the cradle.

Screw the Giants, Screw the Packers, Screw the Bucs who should have beaten the Giants. Go Cowboys!

Even better. To bad the Cowboy's suck and will never win anything important. :(

Let me guess, Giants fan. I hope so or else you shouldnt be talking S***.

Bah. Thy is an archaic second person possessive referring to God Almighty, not an illogical shortening of a weird name. I refuse to have a sense of humor here :p

I was hoping that would be the avenue of attack. I want to see how long my backwards people can infest the world :D

No argument here.

...Do you watch football? Tell me who you like, so I can ridicule them mercilessly and list off stats, for instance...

  • The most championship visits and wins with 14 Championship game appearances since 1970, and 8 wins (the highest percentage in NFL Championship history)
  • The most superbowl appearances and wins, with 8 trips (which stands alone), and 5 wins (which ties with the 49ers and Steelers). They also played in two NFL-AFL World Championships, the precursor to the Superbowl.
  • The most postseason appearances, with 28 visits to the postseason, including the most postseason games played and most won, at 54 and 32 respectively.
  • They very easily could have gone to the Superbowl, with a little more composure and fewer miscues.
  • They are a fairly young team and will have time to grow and play together.
This is not an argument as to whether they would have won the Superbowl, or whether they are better than the Patriots, but what Lucky said was either: 1) ignorant, 2) belligerent, or 3) just plain stupid.

I choose D) All of the above.

I also assumed das would not choose the more difficult of the two paths, therefore I sent no troops in your direction. Though there was a guard there, never fear. :p

Do people usually send in the orders early, or send when its the last day until the deadline?
Mostly when it's the last day for me; I personally don't like to miss last-minute diplomacy, and I do try to utilize the extra time given by turning over my nefarious/obvious plans in my head over and over until I have become so enamored of them that I refuse to change them. Sometimes I will endeavor to send orders earlier, but the day before generally works. I don't think I've sent AFSNES orders on any other day save Tuesday at some time from eight o'clock to ten o'clock AM (my time; das' time it would be from 1800 to 2000).

Yes, having been a mod I know it's a lot easier for someone to work given orders a lot earlier than the day before the deadline, especially if one wants to work so as to finish in a day. However, in my own modding experience, as short and unsatisfactory as it was, I don't recall ever getting enough orders by the deadline anyway, so I wouldn't be able to weigh in on that particularly.

As to the football "debate" (such as it is): I am a Saints fan. That explains a large chunk of my outlook on life. :p Personally, the Cowboys are all okay (one of my very good friends is a Cowboys fan! ;)), and are at least much better to root for than the Skins, whose fans are insufferably annoying and even more hopelessly optimistic than we Saints people.

Huzzah! Contain the barbarians, don't attempt to penetrate our haunted woods (*spooky ghost sounds*)

Same here, although if there's any doubt I won't have time to work on it, I'll send 'em early, so long as revisions are accepted until the deadline.

Huh. Saints fan. I'm sorry :p The Cowboys could have been more amazing than they were, and are historically a powerful franchise, which factors into future ability pretty strongly. I am also a Panthers fan, however, so I can still sympathize with hopeless optimists.

Also, cheers Cleric.

It's even worse considering how well things went last season (bloody hell; should've beat the freaking Bears!)

Eh. You guys have at least won a conference championship. We, on the other hand, ain't never been to a Super Bowl. :(

Well, I've been a die-hard Pats fan since the days of Foxborough and Bludsoe, so as you all argue over who sucks the most, i'll just sit here and keep winning;)
