While We Wait: Part 4

You forgot to mention Ron Paul wants to withdraw from every international organization in the world. :p

If he gets elected it's like coming back to the 1920's. :p

I saw a good quote on another forum - "Ron Paul would bring change to America, much like Anakin Skywalker bringing balance to the force..."
I'm thinking he'll eventually create a Super Sentai style team with Dennis Kucinich and Ralph Nader. Combine to form... Blazing Irresponsible Legislation! SCHWEEEN!!!

Anyway, I can no longer support Obama.

Also, why is American Football not this awesome?

I'll never get used to those drawn-out discussions of US elections. Anyway, vote McCain, he seems sufficiently funny. :goodjob:

I would rather we let Bush have another term until some seriously better politicians decide the run.

Oh, yea. We can only NES on this day once every 4 years. I say we do a 1 day 1 update Leap Year NES. :D

They should've done it with the Giants. Because after all 18-1.  Also I think that someone with a name like PLAXICO BURRESS is cool enough to wear armor.

I don't play 40K, but he kinda does sound like one of the Primarchs. :p

The best possible change for football requires armor, explosions and high powered cannons. The football should also be made of Kevlar.

Assertion: true pacifism is simply a suicidal tendency under a different label. Discuss.

True Pacifism is idealism. Idealism doesn't function in a world where few others are idealistic.

And my nations have done well in a variety of NESes with or without war.

The point of NESing is not to win...he fares well enough in wars to get by.

If we didn't have our builders (jalapeno_dude, iggy, swissempire), NESing would be even more of a wargame than it is already.

It's worse than most other idealistic notions by far. True Democracy, True Communism, True Anarchy, True Free Market... all continue to provide, for the very least, a mechanism for self-defense. True Pacifism grants you only one right: the right to die.

I can think of no other philosophy that is as sugar-coated in good intentions yet as destructive and simultaneously as idiotic.

Any form of pacifism below True Pacifism is no pacifism at all, but is simply pragmatism dressed up in a nice white dress of non-violence when possible. That being the case, it may as well be as utilitarian as possible. True Pacifists are suicidal and anything less are simply inefficient pragmatists. It's like the worst of all possible ideals.

Am I not a builder? Or does building identical copies of China everywhere not count? :p

Yes, Pacifism can't possibly be absolute. And it is only a right to die if there is someone else who believes that they have a right to kill.

Someone ALWAYS believes that.

Look at Gandhi.
