Why wouldn't reformatting work for you?

Personally I dont like reformatting because I have tons of custom stuff for all kinds of games and things. Although its all backed up somewhere and I'll probably never come back to it, I want to know its there on the PC I'm using, just in case.

Reinstalling and configuring all my software is a terrible chore. Tonight we figured out a big part of the problem: my recent re-install of bit defender anti virus was/is incompatible with some other aspect of my system. That has been removed and rather than take 2 hours to boot, I am back to normal. Tomorrow we will check to make sure everything else is working ok.

www.techsupportforum.com is a fabulous site for solving both virus and technical problems for free. You just have to put in the time. I've used them several times and each time thay have saved me from having to reformat and start over.

I think it's another term for straw - online translator translated the Danish word halm into both halm and straw, so I played with the words. But I think it's an ancient term for you guys.

If you must undertake diplomacy, please wait for update 0 and all the sign-ups, and if its going to be done out of character (asking for a NAP over a length of turns, however you do it is not IC) please keep it to PM's!

I agree.

I usually don't participate in diplomacy before the mid-early stages of a NES. Those stupid alliance ninjas grab the power in order to win a NES, but remain unrealistic. Especially in Fresh Starts. People usually fought each other, not cooperate with - at least, alliances was a term invented by the later stages of civilization anyways. Before that, it was just peace.
