While We Wait: The Next Generation

I have been here for 2/7ths of it! I feels so old, yet so naieve...

My playing style has drifted from Blitz - Builder (Remember the Kingdom of Han) into Agressive-Culture (Lets see... Three MRTOR and other stories).

I still keep a good sense of Honor, and it takes me down.

Well, think of all the people's lives you enriched (Demolished, destroyed, and salted) and of your own life. (Burned)

[cracks neck]... people I've killed? No few dozen. Oh- in NES's? 10,000 or so? Scale is tough to determine sometimes.

As one of the new draftees from the "new wave" FFHNES group, I've yet to see my first year... not that I feel bad about that. You old fogies need some new blood every now and again (actual age not meaning anything, of course). I do feel that something should be done to merge the two groups together a little bit better - I know that there are a half-dozen people that play in FFHNES's as well as the regular ones, but there are also a dozen or so of us that are firmly ensconced in our own little corner. By the same token, though, there isn't a lot of interest coming the other way either...

I just think there's some kind of lost opportunity, there. Maybe it needs some time, I dunno.

Well... yeah. FFH as a setting doesn't interest me, sadly. On the other hand, I always welcome new players in my NES, so I'd love it if you guys branched out a little...

This. Yes, even the NES part, because it's coming in May/June. Believe it!

FFH as a setting doesn't interest me very much, but I think some of our settings could interest you! I think it'd be more natural for the majority of the flow to go from FFH -> Mainstream NES than the other way around, simply because FFH is a specific setting while NESing can encapsulate many.

The tendency seems to be the opposite so far, though. They got Charles Li, Junil bless them. :p Possibly some others as well? Though hopefully it should all even out with time. The FFH NESes look great, anyway (especially the maps); sadly, I haven't the time to get into them right now.

They also got me, although I've never been a particularly well-known NESer (unlike Charles ). I think a few others joined the FFH side too, although most are NESing newbies. If you ever have time to play I still need reserve players, who will play minor (less time consuming) factions and take over from NPC's when I decide the time is right. If you are interested it won't be starting June 3rd, so you may have the time to take part by then.

Pssh, Immac. All you need is half an hour and MS Paint, and you can come up with something halfway decent - emphasis on "halfway" ;).

Actually, I'm not in FFHNES'ing because it's FFH - I'd enjoy any imaginative setting. I like the "feel" of them. They're not as abstract as some other NES's (not that it's wrong to do that, but there are a few of us who just don't go for that sort of thing). They have fewer units - you get a lot more attached to your "Godlike Warriors of Awesome Destruction" than your "68 battalions". They're also a bit smaller - with only 8 nations instead of 18, you can really get to know all of your enemies. Granted, my NES has more players than that... but still only 8 nations, so hopefully I'll end up with the same deal. Hopefully.

FFH is fantasy, just with more lore. I prefer fantasy, over "Real world" NES. HEX-nes'es are going far to forum-games section in my humble opinion. But if there will be any NES with fantasy settings, I'm interested. There I do not have to know who was Saladins 3rd Son and what he did how he died and how many heirs he had(including those bastard heirs). (sorry but everyone else seem to know this!)

EDIT: Sekai NES looks very interesting to me.

That's crap man, I dont know much history except the basics.
You have to have played a specific mod to participate in FFHneses and considering I don't own civ4 anymore that is pretty hard
