I agree Insane Panda. Stop spamming and work on NES you idiot spammers! :whip:

I have a NES, thank you very much. Send in some better orders and you might go somewhere.

..sorry.

Wow, BJ. You broke a betrothal of the royal families, and the implied NAP and even alliance that went with it? I was right not to trust you from the beginning...
Well I did offer a marriage and actually had contingencies in my orders if your king or his daughter were to make the trip. In neither case would they have been harmed. I would have released them after the war. I could not follow through and actually allow the marriage when you seemed interested because I had already committed to war. I did try to lead you far astray, but your lack of trust of me (as a new unknown player) make me think that you would not fall for it. I certainly never expected a undefended border. In fact I had seen your previous successful defense/counter offense and was sufficiently worried that I limited my advance and said don't go past Tyre. Stop and wait.

Yes, how very nice of you.
You're welcome

Don't you agree that the point of effective diplomacy is to provide one's nation with an edge? If I was planning a substantial invasion, I wanted you to believe it wasn't coming. Your pronounced and stated lack of trust convinced that I was not succeeding, so I tried harder.

I'm not saying what you did is stupid, I'm just saying that you should out and say that you're just doing it to gain an advantage. Which you just did, so all is well.

You think I should have said what I was doing in game?

I am still figuring out my own playing style and since I haven't actually played very many games past a few turns (JDs and Farow's only) I am still testing ideas, but I haven't ever broken an agreement with another player yet. That seems too deceitful at the moment. For a game with few rules, I feel I need some of my own.

JalNES has colonized another thread!

But your colony will die unless you spend EP to support it.

When to Break an Agreement and When to not is a Hard part. You should Always ask these Questions befor you do so:
Is it worth it?
what Effects will it have?
And do they plan to do the same?

so far, I've Only Broken One Agreement (the Swade/Mycnany/Emor Defense Pact). and that worked as Near Perfect as I could wish for. Pretty much Eaxtly the effect I tried for.

In JaNES, I did consider Breaking the NAP with the League and takeing the north Coast. but the Effect's that would come from it would have not been worth it. I'm a nation of merchent in that NES, and even if we took the coast, we would have been forced to take the entier League to insure that we retained that coast. Not Exacly an Acceptible Outcome.

Oh, and NEVER treat a Pact Friviously. always thing when you act concerning it.

I only break pacts, and I mean only, when I consider the people on the other end to be in the process of breaking it or plotting to break it.

Likewise. I only invaded England, Scandanavia, and Portugal (all allies) because I believed they were plotting or could plot to work against me.

Couldn't anyone be plotting against you?

All of the nations on his list were, by hard evidence that our alliance had, distrustworthy.

You mean making up excuses or giving info to other parties about attacks on them so they would attack first and justify your warmongering ways?

Kinda like how as Egypt I invaded HRE thinking I was being attacked only to find out Byzantine was attacking me.

I can actully say that I have never broken a pact. I consider the reputation to almost always outway the possible benefits. I say almost because I can envision situations when breaking a pact would be necessary, I have just never come across those situations, Baruch Hashem.

Nope. Unlike others, I don't justify my attacks after the fact.

England was building up a MASSIVE fleet before I invaded it.

What were they going to use it for? Killing Russians? Certaintly not.

maybe it was just build up to help protect all her colonies? It doesn't mean anything. You are just paranoid.

I have been meaning ot ask you. If as Egypt I hadn't attacked you and Byzantine still invaded me. Would you act upon our alliance and attack Byzantine?
