Decide not to switch to Emancipation and US just yet. They would cost more, and we're getting a lot of science from Rep. Once we've finished some more Spaceship techs and need the shields from US more than the science, we should switch.

Beijing will get another Great Person next turn. 47% chance of an Artist, 37% chance for an Engineer. If it's an Artist, I think we should try flipping San Fran. If it's an Eng, well...there are plenty of wonders to get, including Rock & Roll, Eiffel Tower, and the United Nations.

And don't worry!
I remembered the save! ;)

Nice work IP....including posting the save. You were whomping out there for a couple turnsets.

We definitely want the UN if we get the engineer.

I see it, I got it, I play it Tuesday, post it Tuesday.

Mostly tending to business and swapping food for hammers. The switch to Emancipation was a big happy boost across the board. Mansa must have been stockpiling Greats because he started a Golden Age and finished Apollo and a SS part in the space of about three turns. He is also "rocketing ahead" in technology picking upa lot of stuff in ten turns. Given all of that we might want to move smartly on Robotics and get the Elevator built. One of the problems is going to be our lack of Aluminium and the cost of Robotics. We may have to put up Labs where we want to build the parts.

And we have A TANK!

ok.
sad, but i have to do this.

i dont seem to have regular and easy access to my [civ4] machine.
so, until im finished with moving in with the girlfriend (about a month or so), i have to ask for a permanent skip.

i will keep watch over things, but no [civ4] for me till then.

sorry mates :(

OK we're back to the top of the order.

Sorry for the delay everyone. If Eldar doesn't post a got it I'll play tomorrow.

It seems we have some decisions. Both Mansa and Frederick have built Apollo, we don't have any aluminum and no possibility to get any. We either need to wina UN victory which is possible since we have good relations or we need to attack someone who has aluminum. Getting Mansa and Frederick in a fight is questionable. Our attack would most likely be the Persians since they are a little behind and don't even have iron (we are selling it to them). What do you guys think?

I think Diplomatic is our best bet. I also think we could easily win it, from what I can remember about our friends' positions.

I also think we should not stop with going for Space ship, just in case Diplomatic doesn't work out. Is Cyrus friends with anyone, and if so, are they friends with us? We don't want our war with Cyrus to hurt our Diplomatic position.

I agree IP. We have very good relations with everyone except Huyana and Saladin (the usual suspects). My only concern about a space victory is where to get the aluminum. There's a possibilty Huyana has some but we can't see a lot of his resources due to the darkness over his continent.

IP I think you're up.

:bump:
Our ranks are thin with SW out till March but let's try to keep things moving.

I got it.

Play it tonight. See what I can figure out about a Diplo/SS victory

Oh, sorry, didn't realize I was up. I've been busy all this week anyways, so I wouldn't have been able to play it until today at the earliest.

Turn 315 (1890 AD)
Have to see what the vote looks like when the UN is finished but based on the Demographics we stand 4th in population, and to lock the win we will need +25% of the next largest to guarantee the diplomatic vote. Both production are commerce are weak and it is way too late to do much about commerce, production can be boosted though so I set about to do that

Turn 316 (1892 AD)
Change the civics around to get a production boost in the capitol, extra trade route value as well as additional hammers out of the towns we have on the ground (Universal Suffrage, Bureaucracy,
Free Religion) The extra hammers at the capitol will bring the UN in on this turn set, while the extra town hammers will help out with the projects at Nanking and elsewhere.

Turn 317 (1894 AD)

FDR builds the Eiffel Tower

Turn 324 (1908 AD)
Order up some CD's from Mansa (Elvis, Chuck and Jerry Lee) for some pork(?) and marble
With the music playing I can cut the culture rate and bump science

Turn 325 (1910 AD)

And I rush the parish church in Guangzhou as that is the last happiness hold out.
The results of the UN vote will appear on the IT.

SS casings are popping up all over, but no one has mined their aluminium yet. And it looks like Mansa's territory is too far south for the Space Elevator. So we still have that opportunity available to us. We need to push as many hammers as we can to do it though.

An option worth considering is loading up some tanks in transports and taking apart the Aztecs for additional population to drive the UN vote our way. He lacks any Industrial techs. Once we have Satellites due in 4 we will have a picture of his lands and can put together a landing.

I like the idea of pushing the Aztecs off the island. This seems to be our best bet.

Well I started the war after Bismarck and Monte started. I looked to see where Bismarck would land and landed next to him. We had another UN vote for environmentalism but no go. If we can gain some cities on Aztec island like Bede said I think we have a shot. I did pick up some aluminum from Bismarck. The space elevator is about 11 away but we're about 5 parts behind. Sorry for the delay.

For some reason these are two of the 4 or so cities that keep defaulting to specialists and starve. You need to move the citizens to the following tiles.

Great turns Whomp! We now have a beachhead.

You put two pics of Nanjing up, btw. I would try turning the governor on in those cities to maybe stop them switching to specialists.

Oh, wait, I'm up. Sounds like fun turns! :) I'll play tomorrow, probably.
