Why do you assume that there is a single metric of crappiness? Perhaps one position was less crappy in certain respects, and the other position less crappy in certain other respects.

It's hard to say who's better in bed but I'm going to guess the head-wound guy, so he has the higher moral ground.
Spoiler :

As we know, some men are lovers, not fighters. Whoever is the better lover, is the worse fighter, which means the better fighter is the more violent one. This means they are the ones who probably started the violence, so the better lover was defending themselves, which means they have the higher moral ground. :D
Spoiler :

Head shots are worth more points and are harder to get, meaning you have more skill, meaning you're a better fighter.

So that is why the doom of the Spartens was via them getting beaten by civilian militia. :mischief:

Britian managed to defend itself well in WW2, despite not being specially prepared for war and they were still recovering from WW1 in many ways.

Ah, but standard practice is to aim for the centre of mass, so for all we know the headshot guy is just a lousy shot who got lucky. ;)

Who's side did America intervene for, assume one of them isn't America?

what

that

no

two engagements can reasonably be described as "the doom of the Spartans", the Battle of Leuktra (371 BC) and the Battle of Sellasia (222 BC)

in the former, the Theban hieros lochos - an elite force, not "civilian militia" - ended up playing the decisive role, although various other factors, such as tactical surprise and superior tactical evolutions, certainly helped a lot

in the latter, the decidedly professional Makedonian phalangitai and the mercenaries of their Peloponnesian allies were what smashed the Spartan army in a knock-down drag-out fight within the borders of Lakonike itself

"civilian militia" did not enter into the equation in any meaningful sense

Nonsense. People in FPS ONLY go for head shots, so the white guy aimed for the head and "missed", hitting the torso. Hiz menz suxxorz.

Dismissing them both as evil is easy and doesn't make for an interesting discussion.

Because the thread was gripping up until some people took the position that "the lesser of two evils is still evil."

You know what they say - OT threads only get good if they get derailed onto some history thing.

Or you're one of those insufferable spawn campers who just leave their crosshair where theiy expect a head to appear any second now.

Sheesh, what games have that kind of terrible spawn system?

Hmm... are you going to tell us the server you play in? I really enjoyed pissing people off with that! :satan:

Unreal Tournament. The first one.

Actually it's been years since I played any shooter online (if you don't count Mass Effect 3 which doesn't have PvP).
My point: Headshots used to be/aren't that impressive if you find a good spot to camp&snipe.

Oh now you're just getting OT Sar. We need to get back to talking about the theoretical morality of a hypothetical situation presented in a random cartoon of abstract variables for an anonymous poster with unknown goals in a faceless environment.

Be serious!

But the new discussion was more interesting! :(
