What the heck is the deal with this? It looks so stupid and annoying. I know its a hex based map, but can't you guys at Firaxis just round the clouds out a tad?

thanks.

I find it very natural that the fog of war must be aligned with the shape of the tiles. I think any other solution would look weirder.

since I've been playing games for like 20 years, I think I know what best for a game.

fix the clouds and make the mountain tiles bigger. sometimes its the details that count.

I doubt you know what's best for a game moreso than the developer.

That said the clouds do need to be fixed. Much like rivers we have seen a couple incarnations of visual effects added in newer builds. I don't doubt clouds will get some artist love before release.

You're complaining about a detail so small in a Grand-scale strategy game that most people wouldn't even bothered posting in a Bug Thread about it, let alone start an entire thread over it.

Mmmm, probably not. You're only one of thousands buddy.

And I'd say I don't mind the hex shaped clouds at all. FoW always followed the tiles, why make clouds any different?

Hahah.

I've been using my heart to distribute blood for 26, am I qualified to perform surgery?

no because you've been doing that subconsciously and therefore have learned nothing about surgery.

On the other hand, if you played that game where you have to carefully take out body piece out of a wooden picture of a person (the kids game, where it buzzes if you fail..) - then you qualify! But you had to have played that game for over 8 years

Oh man, what a great quote.

You should totally be a lead designer for a game since you have 20 years of experience playing video games.

I'm actually going to apply for the director of waste management position in my town because I've been taking dumps for over 25 years.

Well maybe playing on a turn-based tile game isn't something you ought to not be bothered with? You are aware that they can't make mountain tiles bigger because all the hexagonal tiles are the same size whether it has mountains, hills, and etc. on it.

I think it depends on the perspective. Sometimes they will and sometimes they won't.

Well, I've been playing Civ for almost 15 years, so I'm not as qualified as the OP, but my wonderful idea that I am absolutely certain would be best for Civ is to remove all city building, improvements, wonders, resources and tile improvements from the game.

You start the game with a settler, and you finish the game several hours later still with a settler and a stalemate =D.

Or wait, whoever's settler doesnt get killed by barbs wins the game :)
