Why Christians Find So Many Atheists (NOT ATHEISM) Offensive

(just move the controller to minute 20, and watch until about minute 24). You'll note that the speaker is talking about his strategy to maximise fear, and seeking to imprint the fear fully. The idea is to terrorise the child before they're too old to be impressed.

Took a while for it to load, but I just watched this. I just want to say that this is not what I think either Homie or MobBoss is reffering to when they are raising their kids to be christian. This is also not the kind of abuse I am reffering to in this thread.

Very disturbing video that was.

A favor granted deserves a favor returned.

So in your mind, any time a parent makes an error in judgement (does something wrong) this is on the same moral plataeu as violently raping an infant.

If these acts are not morally equivalent, find another term other than "child abuse". One that is not designed to de-humanize those who are guilty of the crime of holding different opinions than yours.

Please, I have explained myself so many times I find it hard to believe that you draw this conclusion from my posts.

from the post I linked to
"So for me the definition: "using your authority wrongly or improperly" applies. Eventhough it is done with the best intrest of the child in mind."

How you came to the conclusion I am calling this abuse on par with violently raping an infant is a mystery to me.

Nope. It's the correct term. If you don't like it, blame english, not me.

Yes, this is truely shocking. Although this is only part of what I was talking about. I would suggest viewing from the 17th minute (by all means watch it all if you can spare the time).

To think that millions of children are (still) brought up this way defies belief (pun intended).

Re: Unser Giftzwerg:

How utterly sick that you cheapen the horror of child abuse by conflating it with your opinions on what constitutes optimal parenting

If you don't like (or not aware of) the other facets of child abuse then don't blame the term, blame your understanding of it.

You don't have to physically touch someone to abuse them.

pssh physical abuse and other forms of abuse aren't even on the same level. feminists tried to broaden the definition of abuse so they could spout off stats like "all women have suffered some form of domestic abuse in their lifetime". in their umbrella term, anything that causes any kind of discomfort could be considered abuse. if that's the case, everyone in the world has been abused, and its hardly an issue.

its stupid to lump them all under one category and declare them equal.

lets see, getting sexually abused at a young age and beaten, or being taught mythology. HMMMMMMMMM TOUGH CHOICE THERE

Please provide a quote form someone suggesting these are equal or lumping them together. If I call the theft of a loaf of bread a crime, does that mean I think it's equal to rape or mass-murder or a Celine Dion concert and lump them together?

Really, it's a nice cross, but without nails you're not going to get far.

well that's how i took his statements. so sue me if you disagree. or better yet, nail me to a cross ;)

Depents, are you american? If so, I'll gladly adapt to the culture and sue. A million doesn't cut it anymore nowadays right? Would 30 million be an apropriate sufficient rediculous amount to sue for?

My people will call your people about this. :D
