Why Christians Find So Many Atheists (NOT ATHEISM) Offensive

Curts nuts, I ussually find the christians who get so easily offended are the ones who are the most insecure, same goes for all religions. I mean realy, if you talk about it becuase your trying to convince yourself then you might want to really reconsider your beleifs.

That means there are A LOT of insecure muslims.

QFT. It is very frustrating when that happens and it happens way to often here for it to be other than a hatred for religion, when most people should be rational about it, but they are not.

My hatred of religion stems from religions' hatreds of eachother.

I can't help but notice how most avowed christians tend to be the most pro-war, and anti-Islam, but when their hypocrisy is exposed, they refuse to see it.

To the fundamentalist christian, the argument is simple:

Islam = bad, mohammed = rapist, qoran = violent, muslims = terrorist sympathizers.

Christianity = good, god = strict moralist, bible = goodness, christians = liberators of the world and lights to the lost.

And it's all crap.

It's interesting that NO ONE has talked about the people I'm criticizing. Western liberal bleeding hearts who wants to be SO DIFFERENT.

If nobody talks about it, are you sure this phenomenon even represents a notable segment of the population?

And what's the argument for a fundamentalist muslim? Please tell me.

I'll never tell . . .

Seriously, though, I don't take offense at anything, but my reaction to what people say varies. For instance, Curt Sibling (currently AWOL) is no fan of religion, but by and large he can discuss religious people in human terms. Other atheists are just as strident as him, but jerks about it. I have seen the same from other posters, Christian or otherwise religious.

He didn't used ot be. He used to have a real hateful anti-religionist thing going on.

So this is what I don't get. You have these people who are ALL religions are bad, ALL fundamentalists are bad.

But we only bash Christianity and Christian fundamentalists. What's up with that?

I've never seen ANY of them say a bad word about Islam.

Maybe because they're muslims posing as atheists?

I dont see myself as insecure about my faith. Most of my problems lie within Self-Esteem and Self-Confedence issues.

Cut the conspiracy theories. There are barely any muslims on this forum to be annoyed by, and a whole slew of Christians.

@neomega: I recall. Basically, he realized that religion, if it is just a human construct, is no worse than any other. He is still very anti-religious, which is fine, because he is reasonable about it.

Read my post again and get the general idea. People here so literal.

I'm not saying a white person who goes out and bashes white people.

I'm talking about a general antagonism against christian, white, democracies and western countries by people who happens to be white too.

It's interesting that NO ONE has talked about the people I'm criticizing. Western liberal bleeding hearts who wants to be SO DIFFERENT.

Why do you have to point out the fact that these countries are white? What makes this about race at all? That's what I don't get. What scares me is that I only here this from, how you say, certain types of people. I'm not implying anything. You're just sending me a bad feeling with that one. That said I think this claim is unfounded.

So, who exactly is it that is against these countries?

And for the record, bleeding heart liberals who want to be different get no support from me.

However, I still see Curt's views on Religion on the hostile/anti-theist track.

You think people are liberal because they want to be different?

and.. you think most liberals hate whites, christians, and democracy?

Wow...

What do you expect, a man who relies on proof and theories doesnt want someone talking about something they beleive if they cant give a hint of proof, expect all the kurts to be like that.

@Bast - You might want to lay down all your cards and explain on each statement so that many people would have a better idea.

Just a suggestion.

@Ecclesiastes: Now see, that is kind of the problem. I can be skeptical, and demand proof for things; I also believe that I have evidence (not proof, such a thing doesn't really exist) that can't be explained. I could be wrong, but that is not the same as not having any. The problem is that so few atheists seem to understand that.

What you said in the last sentence are the people I'm talking about.
