Why I hate Khan

i love starting next to babylon. they're slow to expand, and unless they get an excellent start they will be, despite their traits, one of the smallest and weakest civs. easy prey for extortion, bullying and dominating, basically.

even with a start that isn't crap, they never seem to be in the top 3 (i play with 8 civs, max allowed on that map size). 5th or 6th ranked civ at best.

I hate Caesar and Catherine. What sort of RNG god gives me 2 civs with ridiculously high aggression and stupidly powerful UUs on my start continent? For the past 5(!!!) random starts? Meh, they always bully me. So, I bully them by using my GLib to bribe Khan and Gandhi (THE worst warmongering civs ever) to attack them. Meanwhile...

I live happily ever after while they all stagnate and buy more tech off me. Neither side surrenders, either.

Oh, the joys of selling Music Theory to a Communist civ in the industrial age when you have Modern Paras.

Rome may be a tough nut to crack, but if you attack them early enough they don't even have time to start building legionaries, and so they become an easy prey :) In respect to this, Greece and Carthage are far worse.

I have found that I have to specifically click on the [all random] Civ select button every time or they just reset the last set. I tend to click a couple of times just to be sure.

Thanks for the advice, darski.
I tried it, and got.....
The Zulu, the Aztecs AND the Romans.:crazyeye::lol::lol::lol:

Oh good, that means Monty can follow you around for a while and he can leave me alone!! :p

i have found monty to be quite peaceful lately

probably because i gift him things he'd never otherwise have, on his own

mursellis of the hittities has regained his place as hated enemy number 1

I don't understand this thread, the most annoying civ is whichever civ is posing the biggest problems in the game one is having at the time.

It's always a different one for me.

In just the past few games I've been irritated by the:

Greeks
Sumerians
Portuguese
Japanese
Aztec
Maya
Carthaginians
Russians
Indians
Ottomans
Babylonians
Americans

I really don't think I could define what it is that makes a civ more irritating than the next.

Well EVERY AI annoys me! But to be fair, that's their one and only job.

But Monty tends to annoy me consistently over a span of many games. Thus I have a predispostion to :hammer: onto him before he can :hammer: onto me. When you start to have a grudge against a particular AI, that is what I think this thread is about.

And the Hittites just stiffed me for 66gp in my Anarchy Game, so they are on the list now too! :ar15:

And that means, an endless supply of good motivations to destroy them all :D

I guess if there was some logic to the illogical nature of the topic then it would make sense if people are being continually irked by Agricultural civs what with them growing so quick all the time. Unless they're buried in Mountains or stranded on a finger shaped islands of course.

What I have noticed also is that some civs just seem more aggressively drawn in the diplomacy screens. Comparing the Mayan leader's picture to the Dutch leader's pic for example on furious one can't help but think 'calm down dude!' for the Mayans but just 'AH, bless' for the Dutch. I think this is because the Dutch guy is so pale and wan whereas the Mayan dude's face almost fills the whole screen, not to mention all that head gear...

(snip)

If you think this thread is so devoid of logic, then why don't you simply, well, ignore it?

[offtopic]Hey, hey, Buttercup and Creamcheese- please argue on a different thread.
