I'm just curious; Why defend someone like that anyway? He, and al-Queda, are responsible for the 1998 embassy bombings in Africa, which resulted in horrible loss of life, mostly amongst African muslims. Obviously he is a mad-man. Intelligent, to be sure, and charismatic. But sick and deranged.

I haven't read it all, and I'd prefer it if you could direct me to an article that says how they know it's him, not that they just know. So far, the 'evidence' I have seen says something along the lines of: 'we know it's him from intecepted phone calls.' No good, I want to HEAR those phone calls. I want to SEE the intelligence reports. I don't want to hear 'this is the proof we have.' no, I want to hear 'this is the proof we have, what they said and how we found out. Read the proof, listen to the phone calls and then draw your own conclusions.'

I'll go back to the site if you give me a specific bit to look at.

The evidence that dozens of world leaders have seen ( and agree is compelling ) is compiled by intelligence officers, police and people known as 'double-agents', from many nations. Revealing the information also could mean revealing the sources.

That would place these peoples lives in immenent jeopardy. It would also prevent further intelligence from being gathered. America's policy on intelligence, while frustrating, is nescessary.

Your own government is satisfied. That in and of itself is pretty compelling. Theres not much sympathy for the US there normaly.

Its not going to matter soon anyway. The coalition is bagging the lot as we speak. When the time is right, we'll probably all get to see alot more that is secret now.

If they bring him to trial instead of just killing him, I would be more inclined to believe they had evidence, provided the trial is held in The Hague, and not some biased American court.

You make it sound like I'm evil or something. If the U.S. goes in and gets him without a civilian death, brings him to justice instead of killing him, and the court can't use the death penalty, I don't really mind. Why no death penalty? If he IS guilty, and he is muslim, he won't fear death because he'll think he's going to paradise. If he's guilty and isn't muslim, death's to good for him if he did it he should be shut away forever. We need to show we don't resort to barbarism to get what we want. If he isn't guilty, at least he won't die for something he didn't do.

I hope this gets accross that I don't think what happened on Sept. 11 was a good thing. Whoever did it should be brought to justice, but I'm not going to say who it was because I don't know for sure

All the evidences in the world won't proove anything to the taliban. All things found in the crush site can be fakes, all recorded phone calls were made in a CIA studio and what spies say is, ofcource, US propoganda. The same with the PA. A few weeks ago when Israel withdrew from Jenin the Palestinians promised, in return, to arrest the wanted terrorists that planed the attacks. Israel gave them a list of 108 names, including proofs that these people have done what Israeli said they did. So far 5 people were arrested, and released a day or two after. In things like murder cases the police still have to find evidence even if a confession is made to prove the person isn't making it up.

We might as well face it, those who don't think he did it aren't going to change without seeing the evidence or having a fair trial.
Those who do aren't going to do otherwise unless Bin Laden is found not guilty in a court of law.
All any of us can do is:
a): Argue non-stop and never get anywhere, or
b): Agree to disagree and hope for a trial instead of a killing and then one side will have to admit it was wrong.
