Why no call for investigation into Acorn by higher ups?

These workers are actually telling these people how to commit tax evasion, and to train the underage prostitutes so they don't say anything! It's beyond despicable, and now that it's happened in two locations it's not an isolated incident.
Well, no, that can just simply mean two isolated incidents.

Not when you consider the other things they've done. It all points to something greater than mere isolated incidents.

I feel they should be investigated, I got one person in this thread who agrees with me I guess?:) lol

So David Vitter + Larry Craig + Diabold points to something greater than mere isolated incidents with the GOP and as an entity, it needs higher level investigation?

Not when all of the incidents are instances of corruption at the lowest level. At most, it shows that they don't vet their employees well enough.

These incidents show that we should probably give more funding to ACORN so they can pay employees more and thus attract a higher quality of employee.

Ok then, how about http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/11/13/acorn.investigation/ (purposely used a more neutral source)

Doesn't get any higher level than that.

And vetting is indeed a problem. Look at Van Jones. If he was properly vetted there's no way he would have gotten that job. Or, to think of it in a scary way, he was properly vetted and given the job anyway.

And have a better system of scanning their employers.

How does that make sense? This could be committed by a poor Acorn employee or a not poor one.

I would have used CNN also(as I figured Id get hate for using Fox News as a source on Civfanatics, as I have in the past), but unfortunately they don't have much cover on this story. And MSNBC I didn't see covering it at all. Thought maybe they have but I missed it?

I agree though about what you linked.

french civ fan, once again, stop double/triple posting. It's irritating and against the forum rules.

Sorry, I dunno how to edit a post though and add in someones quote.

There is an edit button to the left of the quote button within your own posts.

CNN only started covering it today, barely. And MSNBC has completely ignored it in favor of trying to turn Wilson's dumb heckling into major news (yes, he was dumb but geez). I bet MSNBC wants no part of this story until they can spin it into some sort of racist thing, like they do with everything else lately.

I'm thinking, or rather hoping, it was sarcasm.

Ya but I mean I dunno how to add in quotes.

By using [ quote=(username) ] text [ /quote ] . You can view previous posts under the submit reply button in the edit post page.

When editing for quotes I usually open the thread again in another tab, click QUOTE or MULTI when needed, and copy/paste the quote it gives me. It just saves on tedious typing :)

I really don't see why they would not report on this Acorn incident though and would rather focus on some outbursts, it shouldn't take that long to cover that outburst should it?

And let us not forget...Harry Reid called Bush a liar and never apologized or took it back, double standards I think?

This guy at least has apologized. But a point could be made that Obama did lie as from my understanding it very well could cover illegals...but that's another topic.

I do think the outburst wasn't right though, the president was speaking.

The explanation I heard was that any means of enforcement of illegals not having access was removed. Something like that, I didn't catch the whole explanation. I guess I could try to search for it.

The outburst was a really dumb move and totally disrespectful.

EDIT: Here's a decent summary of why some people like Wilson think illegals will be covered:

http://www.uspoliticsonline.com/hea...n-how-illegals-will-covered-under-hr3200.html

The big thing is the defeat of enforcement, and the language of the bill:

H.R. 3200: Sec 246 — NO FEDERAL PAYMENT FOR UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS

Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.

and then reading elsewhere that "affordability credits", the only thing mentioned that illegals would not get, are credits that "provide funds to low-income people to purchase private health insurance".

Can anyone else see the loopholes? Obama was very clever in how he worded it, indeed. That one part of the bill is what everyone loves to mention when they say "Wilson is wrong, illegals will not get health insurance". It doesn't actually say that though does it?

EDIT: Wilson is still an idiot for heckling.
