Why would anyone support the practice of abortion?

I have no problem with that. Delibarate waste of it should be strongly condemned as well.

Here's my spill... My dad got a girl pregnant at 15. She got an abortion and he never saw her again. Almost 20 years later I was conceived. If my dad's first child had not been aborted I would not be around today. The way I look at things, I live a much more productive, happy life than would the average person who was parented by teenagers. You can argue that abortion is murder, but no abortion means prevention of my life. It's numbers that matter, not acts as the acts only matter because of their results. Results being numbers... More abortions mean less badly parented children, and more abled parents as the potential bad parents have a chance of developing into good parents in their futures.

ainwood, hyperbole is no substitute for substance.

Chimp. I'd suffer the 'single-use' option, but with multiple-use abortions skyrocketing, it's clear that many see abortion as another form of birth control, not a last-ditch, once-in-a-lifetime way out of a situation they'll never get in again. On the contrary, the scenario is more like:

You're pregnant?! Oh crap, we're screwed! An abortion? We're unscrewed! Yay!! Let's celebrate with a roll in the hay! You're pregnant again?! Lessee, 50, 65, 225, 450, ok we got enough for another abortion. We're unscrewed again!! Let's celebrate with a roll in the hay!

More abortions mean more people deciding that abortion is birth control.
