[WIP] Project Civ: A Quality-Oriented Civ Pack

So I've been looking at various macedonian shield designs, and this symbol seems to crop up a lot.

I've learned that it's composed of three letters. Pi, Ypsilon, and Rho. Any idea what it means?

I've designed a version myself. Considering using it for the Macedonian UU. Also, I think I'll just call them Companion Infantry, this was a term used by the Macedonians themsleves in Alexandrian times.

Have a mirror? Imgur isn't working for me.

Nope. Also, been considering a 4th civ in Project Civ's Greece.

One of their UU's would be the Sacred Band, but I have absolutely no idea about any of the other details about them.

One one hand, I feel like the current 3 civs more than well-represent the Hellenes. On the other hand, I feel like I'm leaving out a not-so-minor player in Greece.

EDIT: Working on updating the drawing board....

Unit flag for Epibata.

Well, I finally got Macedonia in a rough-but-fully-functional state. They now have their colours set properly and their icons are set...

One problem -- The icon looks like crap below about 64 px, and it's impossible to tell anything about it. Too much detail. I think we must consider additional options.

A few years in Dirty, Imperialist America later...

My, icon, you sure have let yourself go!

I actually think it's fine. It's still obvious what Civ it is, and the general 'shape' is kept.

I agree, and the only context in which the icon renders is on the MP list, which always has the leader name next to it, so the colors, the overall shape and the leader name will make it quite clear.

Pi, Ypsilon, Roh
Toghether form the greek word for fire
(That was all i could find and by the way where did you find that shield?)

Very nice icon, but I'm just wondering, shouldn't the sun be yellow?

I'm starting to think the PYR monogram stands for Epirotes serving in the Macedonian forces. I remember reading something about it, but can't find it again. Is that the monogram on this coinage?

But yeah guys, does the new fatter icon I posted look alright at lower resolutions? I think it does. Are you in favor of using it over the old skinny sun?

The old one you can't even see the logo, it's just a purple icon with a blue dot in the middle at small resolutions.

And have Rome's colours? Nah. I would if I could.

Gonna hit Macedonia's UA before I go to public testing. My first game with them felt really underwhelming.

I did, however, have a failed Liberty start. I wound up sinking to the bottom in the scores, and that sort of stuff. I did fight the technologically superior Huns to a standstill, though.

Hellenistic Age - Earn golden age progress from city captures (stronger in late game.) Capturing a Capital immediately starts a 10 turn Golden Age (Stronger in early game.) Capturing cities does not increase Golden Age Threshold.

Sorry for the double post, but I do want to bump this thread and bring forth something.

It's been a while since a request session has been held. I'd like you guys to request some civs, preferably ones you wanted to be in the latest expansion but weren't.

Well, my biggest issue and that has not been modded well yet, is the Berbers with Kahina... When Morocco was announced many expected Kahinna to be the leader; but of course she was more a Leader of the Berbers which is totally different from the Moors, and it would add a civ that could use Judaism as a preferred religion...

Another one would be Vietnam, with one of the Trung sisters... Not necessarily focused on ideologies though...

Aside from that, well... There's Argentina and the Shawnee but I'm planning on making them :p

Hungary/Magyars, Etruscans, Bulgars, Khmer, Armenia, maybe some other pre-Columbian Amerindian tribes... in addition to civs from your drawing board. Also, it would be funny to have ancient Slavs as a civ, in opposition to Russia and Poland.

I didn't include civs that are or will be added in good mods already, so: Khazars, Timurids, Kongo, Benin, Mali, Swahili, Mughal Empire, Franks, Goths, Scythians, Dacians etc.

The Burmese/Bagans and the Khmer!

However, I've called dibs on Tuscany.

Why must we work on these alone? Why not together? Would it not be great to bring the community's best modders all together under one roof?

My personal opinion? It could work with a proper bureaucracy and voting system, everyone gets a say in the mod and and we choose the best ideas. It'll be a big change though, and everyone will got a lot less say in the work than they're used to.

Otherwise we just end up with a lot of disgruntled people; too many cooks spoil the broth.

I think it could work well - bouncing ideas of a larger group would ensure we get a good, well-rounded idea. I tend to make mods OP at first, so having more people to voice the ideas and give suggestions would definitely help out. Besides, we're pretty much all working on them all already.
