America was founded on Christian values. The whole point of the pilgrims was to get away from the religious persecution they were suffering from and start a new country free from that. Certainly ideals that any good Christian should stand up for.

I would respond, but

America was founded on liberal, secular values. The most secular values of the day, and this was from very devout people. Many were Christian. But there's nothing about Christianity in all of our laws. The closest we come is the "endowed by our creator" stuff.

It's a nod and a wink to religion, but America is not defined by Christian values.

got it pretty well!

I think Ron Paul would be the best possible compromise to both parties, and yet do all the important things to get America in shape.

Things the Liberals will like: He supports the legalization of drugs and gay marriage. He wants the government out of people's personal lives, and he supports pulling out of Iraq, all things the left in general like.

Things the Right-Wingers will like- He supports the state's rights to handle their own affairs, he supports free markets, opposes bills to push government control.

Things both sides SHOULD like- He wants to keep the government to constitutional limits.

Things I like- Nearly everything:)

Ron Paul is a champion of freedom at all levels, and most liberal complaints about conservatives do not apply to him. I genuinely believe Ron Paul would be the best president since Reagan, possibly better.

So, how many people here support Ron Paul?

You know the federal reserve is behind a lot of our problems, right? They're spending like the world is ending tomorrow, and we don't even know what they're spending on. It also turns out that they're private.

Ron Paul is seriously our last hope, at least for this election. You guys need to look up his ideas before criticizing him.
No more war on anything. It's making me and millions of others sick in the stomach. It costs too many lives, too much money, and resulted in a rise of oil prices. And if drugs were legal, we all know that everyone here would take them ;)

RON PAUL 2012!!!

We did. The few good proposals he has are outweighed by the number of crazy ones, and we can find other politicians who are expousing the same good ideas without the other crazy ones.
Plus, for me at least, I would prefer to have a politician who doesn't use 'states rights' as an excuse to want Jim Crow laws back.

of course, he'd make a great Prez

1) outta Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan...and 40 other countries
2) end the drug war and pardon people in jail for drugs
3) reduce spending

the list is extensive but those 3 top it

naturally the 2 parties will get together to over ride his vetoes on some things, but he'd be far better at standing up to Congress - America's only inherent criminal class according to Mark Twain ;)

Here we go again! The perpetual pc-motion device keeps turning and turning!
