I have about 20 songs from Sim City 4 and Sim City 3k (which are free to the public, from EA's website, FYI), and the Mastery Victory ending video that I can publish. The download would be in addition to the AND main download and patches. It would add the Sim City songs to the industrial, modern, and future eras. The download size would be nearly 300mb, which is why I am asking... Would you use it?

No. Simply because the first thing I do in games is turn off music. IMO there are VERY few games with a decent soundtrack. (and bandwidth is a huge problem in these parts ;))

But when counting I would value a yes 10 times more than a no. Don't see any reason not to publish it as it is optional.

I'd download it - more music is better, even though I sometimes have winamp running over civ. It depends on what mood I'm in.

more music? sure. although i'd prefer more music for the earlier ages as i play mostly there (never reached the future so far). not as much interested in the video though.

but since you mentioned it... i've some good mp3 for these ages i think.

For the later eras Afforess mentioned? I've been slowly compiling some extra music of my own, tho it's pretty hard to find suitable tracks for the first eras (at least if you keep with the style of the original tracks; primitive minimalistic ambient for the Ancient era etc). Classical music on the other hand you'll have trouble choosing just because there's so many great pieces.

Oh and I just had to switch the title music to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dl5zw6fGjdA - even tho it's short I never get bored of it, and it certainly beats Baba Yetu. Perfect warmonger music!

If only it were possible to have that video playing on the title screen background as well - without the texts of course.

Please have it be a separate download.

Heh. Feel free to put a link to any additional music that you feel would work well in Civ. My additions are mainly for the late game; so new music for the earlier game would be nice.

It would be a separate, purely optional, download.

I much prefer listening to my own music in game (like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Pearl Jam, Black Sabbath, The Who, etc.), the only problem is I can't figure out how to make my music play in game when I select the folder it's in from the options menu. I don't really like listening to the music in RoM/AND. But if it improves the music in RoM/AND then sure why not.

I voted no because I already have the Sim City music. It will change to yes if it has other music I don't have already.;)

Hrm. To be honest, I don't think I would. I almost always listen to my Pandora station while playing Civ.

Same here. I'm always listening to either Pandora or my Epic Playlist™ using Winamp whilst playing RoM + AND.

I am specifically for future era music (mainly since there is no specific music for that era) and more video.

Good video, if the credits and things like that were edited out. Of course, if someone was skilled with a video editor and photoshop, and either had time or other people hunt down good quality images and video, they could make there own. Either way, a better opening menu is something that is lacking.

The Opening Menu isn't a simple movie file, or I would have changed it ages ago. It's actually an animation, just like unit animations, and only someone skilled with animating abilities can mod it; which isn't me...

If I installed said pack, would there be issues with MP? Would all of my friends I MP with have to install it? If there's no chance it could cause issues with MP then I'd use it.

It would not cause MP issues with users who had it, and who didn't.

I already have those songs downloaded. In fact I think i may have listed to them while playing AND in the past.

I figured you would. SC4's music is awesome.

Before Civfanatics crashed on me I was going to edit my post to say that I wouldn't be averse to having that mastery video, so long as it's in the main download.
