Anyone who watches past the visuals will see that Biden is on top of every issue, substantively. But very few will.

In a way, Biden did manage what his plan was. He constantly got under Trump's skin. That was evident in the fact that Trump was always responding to the last point and completely ignoring the present question.

But Biden's shortcomings will be easier to package as video clips. Especially the early losing of his train of thought. That's the story of this debate. Even though he recovered, answered every other question well, took it to Trump and did so effectively.
