Would you rather date someone who was really funny or always laughed at your jokes?

I don't really care is my girl laughs at my joke, my sense of humour is sometimes inappropriate, my joke are more to get a reaction from her than anything else, i want her to smack me not laugh! Being funny is a plus, but in the end, i find intellectual discussion more interesting than a bubblehead that can make me laugh. Do you know that laughing puts more stress on the spine than running?

I'd say that a good sense of humor is indicative of intelligence. In my opinion, dumb jokes aren't funny, so she's going to have to have a sophisticated sense of humor for me to think she's funny. My girlfriend doesn't tell jokes alot, but when she does it is absolutely hilarious. I have friends who do laugh at all my jokes, and it gets annoying sometimes. Like cgannon said, reciprocity is important. And if she doesn't laugh at all your jokes, your humor gets better, and it is more rewarding when she does laugh.

On a side note, I'd say it's most annoying when you make a good joke but she doesn't get it. Or worse, they don't get it, but still laugh.

Agreed on all counts. My sense of humour is a combination of graphic explanations of urinating on people, and completely unvague references to a potential flaming homosexual hidden inside me.

It takes a special kind of girl to laugh at that.

Being able to tell a joke is a masculine trait, perfected over the years to attract the fairer sex.

I, like anyone else who's not lying, appreciate it when someone finds a joke of mine funny. But when they find every joke of mine funny, that just gets boring.

A girl being funny is obviously a plus for me (although in some cases I get a lesbian vibe from really funny girls ), so I'll vote for that. But it's not incredibly important (just as long as they're not a total bore).

Precisely, I'm just funny and I make people laugh whenever I'm around. What I want is someone who can make me laugh, Cause women so often, miss out on developing that part of their personality, but some women are just hilarious and these are women you want to be around, not often the lookers of the bunch, but you just fall in love with that sense of humour. Any woman that can compete with a man wit and humour wise is worth getting to know.
