yes im aware, but professional soilders in 1863 and 1864 couldnt cross the red either agasint a unit a quater the size that stoped them dead in there tracks. What the troops would be dealing with in the backwoods is hunters, people that spend there life sitting still for the perfect shot, and alot of them. Youd have a sniper problem, and not 1 or 2 but more like 50 of them, shooting anyone who sticks there head up. A hunter may not be versed in close quaters combat, but they know the land, they can move around and make it hell on anyone. This war has to be won on the ground, air control wont win it, because most our forces will be militia hiding in the brush taking opertunity shots at officers

Also I want to ask you one simple question, how many from the deep south would come to the US aide in this conflict, they are still swore over your crimes during the Civil War, Texas would be likly to get people from the deep south. No national guard unit would come from the South, as a matter of fact Texas leaving could have the side affect of the south rising again themselves to join the fight

ever heard of Texas Air National Guard, those airmen are under the direct control the Govenor, not America, same with our fully trained and hardened Vetrans in the Texas National Guard who have spent more tours in Iraq than any other unit. These two forces are under the control of Texas not America and there loyality lies with the State of Texas along with all there resources paid for by Texas Tax payer money.

Wrong on so many levels. The Texas Air National Guard has only one (1) fighter squadron that uses F-16 C/D aircraft (the rest of its assets are lift, ground security, and intel assets). This means you allege you are going to maintain air superiority with only about 12 to 24 fighter aircraft at your disposal. Yeah...thats going to happen.

Secondly, is the false assumption that units of the Texas National Guard are funded solely by Texas tax payer money. Totally false. Federal tax dollars are what pay for the training and equipment of all National Guard units accross the field.

Another thing to consider is you have all the rednecks and country boys living out in the back country, and these people can shoot, and are armed, and I don't mean hunting rifles only. I grew up in a small town and some of the guns these poeople have arn't even leagal to purchase. You would have these people sign up immeditly for the Texas Militia, and they would come armed already.

Not going to stand up to the bulk of the US military I fear. It would be a blood bath for the Texans who really tried to fight against the US military.

You are kidding right? You absolutely have no clue as to what you are talking about.

Most of north texas is hilly and forested and again the country boys know the lie of the land better, and again you would see ambush after ambush, and you would see bombs hidden in trees ect just for this purpose. South Texas would be hard to invade from, as its board is mexico, and tring to take a port would be a folley. In the west you have the Texas Desert and not much is out there in the first place, but again its its a desert without anything out there, a handful of roads and no landmarks. It would be the worst place to invade from. The only good place for the US Military to approach would be from the panhandle, but we are also aware of this and you would quickly run in the Texas National guard out there.
