Update 1 – Month: 1-2 Year: 30 ADP (30 years after dark portal
GADGETZEN TIMES – Neutral town, neutral news.
World:
Naga Raids! Based out of their city of Nazjatar underneath the Maelstrom various naga raids have occurred across the world against Darnassus, Ogrimmar, Theramore, Steamwheedle Cartel, Kul Tiras, Ironforge, Southshore, and Gilneas. The very scope of these raids suggest an underwater empire the size of which is unknown, but must be massive. The power of the naga might actually be one of the greatest in the world.

Northern Kalimdor:
Gnarlpine turned back! The army of Darnassus has reacted to the invasion of corrupt furbolgs that took place at the end of last year. Starbreeze Village and the Ban'ethil Barrow Den have both been freed from Gnarlpine control. The furbolg now are besieged in the Gnarlpine Hold.

Worgen on the loose! The small army of Worgen that Velinde Starsong helped bring into this world with the Scythe of Elune has mutinied against her, claiming ownership of a small region in northern Ashenvale. This prompted Velinde’s journey to the Eastern Kingdoms and subsequent Worgen invasion of Duskwood (see below).
(Darnassus: -5 army, -5 magic. Worgen now a nation)
Conflict on Azuremyst?! The Bristlelimb have launched several raids on the Stillpine, through Exodar territory. The result was many kidnappings, including the daughter of High Chief Stillpine. He has demanded Exodar to wage war on the Bristlelimb for their transgressions, but the draenei continue to seek a peaceful resolution.
(Stillpine: -1 army)
Twilight Activity in Azshara! Twilight Cultists have been seen along the shores of Azshara. But they must have run into complications as the expedition became ravaged by Spitelash naga forces who claim the area as their own. After several confrontations the Twilight Cult removed itself from the area, but not before sustaining heavy casualties. Whatever occurred, it has burgeoned the morale of the Lagashi who have expanded themselves to perhaps confront the Spitelash.

Central/Southern Kalimdor:
End of Kul Tiras Interference?! The garrison for the Kul Tiras colony left the area defenseless as they sailed east. Diplomacy between the powers of Kul Tiras, Thereamore, and Orgrimmar have signified this could be the end of Kul Tiras influence in Kalimdor. However there has been no official cessation of Kul Tiras activity in Durotar. There has been talk, however, against this move in the nobility and upper ranks of military of Kul Tiras.
Scourge in The Barrens?! While the claims are unsubstantiated and perhaps a misunderstanding of Quilboar necromantic traditions or simply propaganda, many local Horde officials have begun claiming that scourge ambassadors have been meeting with the Razorfen to create some unholy alliance. Theramore officials have not backed such claims, but they can not deny them either.
Lordaeron:
Amani Invasion! Perhaps one of the worst fear of Silvermoon have come true, the Amani have launched their invasion of Quel’thalas. The intial forces were able to overrun Dawnstar Spire, but quick reinforcements saved Farstrider Enclave thanks to local command being handed over to nearby Tranquillien rather than from Silvermoon. The invasion has been mostly contained for three reasons: 1) the wide scope of the operation, the Amani made no specific pushes. 2) The Scourge remained quiet on their side of the Ghostlands and Plaugelands allowing near all of Silvermoon’s military be brought against the invasion. 3) The arrival of a Thunder Bluff expedition led by Magatha Grimtotem. Zul’jin’s personal attempt at coastal raiding was turned back by the Silvermoon navy, and he is now leading the attack on Duskwither Spire.
Zul’jin released this message to the outside world as the invasion commenced:
“Dis was our land. TROLL land. We Amani was here before anyone! Da' elves and dere Alliance came to drive us out. But we never give up. We never forget... Da' elves took my eye. I cut off my own arm to escape 'dem... and now, 'de fight alongside da' HORDE!? I SPIT on da' Horde! I hate you, I hate you all...De' Amani never give up! We never forget. We never die. 'Dis is our land: you wanna stay, you stay here forever! We gonna bury you here.”

Scarlet Crusade pushed out of Stratholme! After nearly 5 years of slowly being pushed back by the forces of the Scarlet Crusade, Argent Dawn, Undercity, and Silvermoon, the Scourge of Lordaeron has launched a counter attack to defeat their foes. They have targeted the Scarlet Crusade first, launching an enormous attack against their forces on all fronts. The intial fighting would be waged in Stratholme where both sides launched powerful attacks on one another. Striking out from the Scarlet Bastion the Scarlet forces at first attempted to cut off the city from the outside. But Kel’Thuzad had already planned for such a move, and had a large portion of his army ready to take back Stratholme once and for all. The two forces fought eachother to a near standstill and neither could push past the other defenses. At one point the Grand Crusader even crossed blows with Baron Riverdare, but ultimately the arrival of Kel’thuzad and a corps of gargoyles turned the day. Rather than face destruction, the Scarlet forces were forced to retreat from Stratholme, allowing the Scourge necromancers time to replace some losses. The Grand Crusader’s forces have been forced back to their last loyal strongholds, refusing to abandon them for the Grand Inquisitor yet.

Scarlet Crusade forces in Western Plaugelands holding weakly! The Scourge also began a drive against the Scarlet Crusade stronghold of Hearthglen in the Western Plaugelands. This has been the headquarters of the Crusade’s operations in the area. Initial attacks easily overwhelmed Scarlet defenses at Northridge Lumber Camp, but Scarlet forces are making a well determined effort to hold the mountain pass leading to Hearthglen. But this force here has been wearing thin, and it is perhaps only a matter of time before the defenses in the pass fall and Hearthglen itself is under attack.

Sapphiron arrives in Lordaeron! The Lich King has sent Sapphiron and a small group of Frost Wyrms to aid Kel’thuzad in his attacks. While it took some time for the force to fly south, they have arrived in time to capture a Scarlet coastal defense and now push onto the Scarlet Monastery.
Scourge forces routed elsewhere! With most attention of the Scourge being spent on the falling Scarlet fortresses in the west, Scarlet and Argent Dawn forces have begun stepping up attacks from the east. Most efforts by the local Scourge were to keep control of the town of Corin’s Crossing, and stopping the Argent Dawn from cutting off their strongholds to the far east. As a result, Argent forces in the west successfully captured Sorrow Hill and with it Uther’s Tomb. This has been a great morale boost for followers of the light everywhere. It appears Undercity has remained quiet, allowing their enemies to kill each other.

Grand Alliance declares war on Syndicate! With their acceptance of Stromgarde into the Alliance, the nations of Kul Tiras, Southshore, and Ironforge have begun efforts to wage war on the Syndicate, however their efforts have been halted by various incidents. Firstly the assassination of the Magistrate of Southshore caused a governmental crisis, forcing Southshore’s forces to stay put for the time being. The crises in Ironforge have halted their support (see below). But Kul Tiras had no such problems, and successfully landed their forces in time to save the Stromgarde forces in Stromgarde itself. Lord Falconcrest’s attack was repulsed, but orders by Kul Tiras were tasked with “supporting the defenders from the Syndicate.” As such no counter attack was made and borders have remained steady as they were 2 months ago.

Khaz Modan/Azeroth
Thandol Span Attacked, Dun Modr Falls! In perhaps one of the most daring raids of all time Dark Iron forces have successfully detonated explosives destroying half of the Thandol Span. The Span is perhaps one of if not the greatest engineering feats of the dwarves: a large stone and iron bridge spanning between the subcontinents Khaz Modan and Lordaeron. The structure is now being held hostage by the Dark Irons who demand the immediate hand over of the Ironforge province of Loch Modan, hoping that the areas wealth will give them the edge needed in defeating the Dark Horde. Ironforge has obviously refused and an unofficial state of war now exists between the two nations.
Dragonmaw declare war on Ironforge! To make matters worse for the Dwarven kingdom, the Orc Dragonmaw Clan has decided to wage war on them. The Dragonmaw have long been suspected of being part of the Dark Horde, and it is believed this invasion is to stop Ironforge from sending reinforcements to Stromwind. While Ironforge has yet been able to respond in full, its local defenses have proved capable of withholding the attack, for now.

Lakeshire falls to advancing Orc forces! After several weeks of intense combat, the town of Lakeshire has fallen to the Dark Horde. Stormwind sent a sizable force in order to save the town, but it was too little. In their retreat the Stormwind forces didn’t even have time to demolish the bridge leading to the town. If some could consider it luck, the Orcs spent enough time pillaging the town to allow the Stromwind forces to regroup at Three Corners where they now fend off the Orc attacks.

Morbent Fel Dead! Led by Highlord Bovlar and Archbishop Benedictus themselves, a powerful force was sent to kill Morbent Fel and end his reign of terror in Duskwood. While hoping so save himself by having his army in the east attack Darkshire, and while they did some damage to the town it would not save him. Its believed the Archbishop was the one who struck Morbent Fel down, shattering the powerful spell of protection he had placed on himself. With Morbent dead his army simply dropped to the ground. The few living under his command were arrested and sent to the Stockade in the city of Stormwind.

Worgen in the Woods! But the terror which has gripped Duskwood has not ended. One monster has been replaced with a new one. The Worgen, a werewolf type race has infested itself in Duskwood. These creatures were summoned here after the disappearance of Velinde Starsong on her journey to seek help in the Eastern Kingdoms on the powers of the Scythe of Elune and the Worgen she had lost control of in Ashenvale. The citizens of Darkshire once more fear for their lives and demand an immediate end to these ghoulish threats once and for all.
Vancleef Missing; Defias on Retreat! With the arrival of standard Stormwind troops the first open battles between the Defias Brotherhood and Stormwind have taken place. Under direction of Mathias Shaw, the Stromwind forces have been able to avoid most of the Defias’ tricks and traps and have successfully recaptured the Jangerlode Mine and Gold Coast Quarry, damaging the Defias’ economy. Meanwhile reports are surfacing that Vancleef himself has gone missing and his Second-in-Command has been placed in charge. In other news a certain Stormwind noble was found dead allowing with the large amount of Stormwind gold he was meant to be delivering. While several conspiracy theorists have tried to link the two events together, authorities continue to say the event was happenstance and committed by low-level defies personal.

House of Nobles under house arrest; Stormwind near breaking point! The House of Nobles, led by Lady Katrina Prestor, have demanded an immediate cessation of Stormwind military activity and review of Stormwind’s financial, military, and political situation. Using the fall of Lakeshire and damaging of Darkshire as examples of the incompetence of Highlord Bolvar’s leadership the House of Nobles began subverting his control of the various apparatuses of the kingdom. After reminding the Nobles their tongues carry the weight of treason, the Nobles persisted calling Bolvar a tyrant. In response the Highlord has ordered the entire House of Nobles confined to certain watched, but amicable quarters in Stormwind Keep. However this has only intensified the situation as the House has pulled its financial backing, greatly harming Stormwind’s economy. At the same time they have ordered their subordinates who fight in the Stormwind army and navy to stand down until further instruction. While not engaging in open civil war, the situation seems to be delving closer and closer into one, especially as Darkshire’s government has grudgingly sided with the Nobles after their town was damaged by Morbent Fel’s feint attack.

Temple of Atal’Hakkar Sunk; Green Dragons go crazy! Word is coming in from Horde authorities in the Swamp of Sorrows that the Green Dragonflight led an attack on the Atal’ai to stop the summoning of a powerful, but evil, troll god. The dragons, led by Eranikus, attempted to sink the Temple under the swamp, drowning the trolls before they can summon their god. However, something went wrong and the dragons couldn’t finish sinking the temple before going crazy and entering it themselves. Horde scouts have not been able to close enough without evoking the wrath of sane Green dragons. Our druidic sources believe that the dragons went crazy due to the spread of The Nightmare, a corrupting power in the Emerald Dream. A plane of existence druids and green dragons are tied to.
Southseas:
Venture Company goes Bananas! The Venture Company has established a powerful presence on the island of Tel’abim, breaking the Bilgewater Cartel’s monopoly on the famous Tel’abim banana. This has brought great outrage from the Cartel who have called this economic sabotage of the highest order. Already Bilgewater bruisers have attacked several Venture employees who were in Bilgewater lands at the time the news came down. It is uncertain how this could effect the stability of the Trade Coalition.
Northrend:
Scourge begins new offensive in Northrend! The Scourge has started a new offensive in Northrend, perhaps as a diversion of their attacks in Lordaeron. Undead armies have massed attacks onto Taunka lands, a member of the Horde. Icemist Village, on the other side of Lake Wintergrasp, fell easily to the undead. Taunka forces decided instead to rally at their capital with Chieftan Ashtotem. Luckily the scourge had not utilized their full capacity, and the Taunka hold on…for now.
