WW1 Real Time or PBEM

Sorry for the time but you cannot just play a turn of WWI in 30 seconds...

Anyway. Limited action around Bruxelles (again) where 2 inf div were destroyed as well as one German machinegunner with no losses.
A cavalry party north of Nancy was also destroyed but succeeded in ambushing one of our own cavalries. The second, warned, slaughtered the German bandits.

Calais was shelled. Our sailors, some from this beautiful harbor, cried but did their duty nevertheless.

Cluj: 2 cossacks redlined and destroyed, 1 cavalry weakened and destroyed

Venice: Two tiles destroyed.

Antivari: Bombardment reveals more units than expected. Terrain pillaged.

Any offensive will have to wait another month.

I think the game is progressing at a decent speed considering the size of this scenario and the fact that we have six players. Of course, I would like it to go faster like a turn everyday, not every three days, but the world isn't perfect...

Mostly naval action this turn.

Germany :

Battlecruisers Sgydlitz and Von Der Tann sunk for the loss of 2 Pre Dreads, 1 Armd Cruiser, 2 Dreadnoughts and 1 Battlecruiser

Battlecruisers Derfflinger, Goeben, Moltke and Blucher sunk for the loss of 2 Pre Dreads and 5 Armd Cruisers

6 Subs sunk for no loss whatsoever :D

Infantry SW of Ypres shelled by artillery and damaged.

Ottomans :

Smyrna bombarded and damage caused.

Altough the Germans lost many brave sailors on the 6 Battlecruisers, and a substantial portion of their submarine fleet, German High Command considers their sacrifice very brave and noble in defense of the father land as the British lost 13 vessels to Germany's 11. Most notably was the defeat of 2 of the Royal Navy's Dreadnoughts taking their count from 18 to 16 (only 2 more then Germany's 14!). Kaiser Bill (aka BK) awarded each of the sailors surviving families the Naval Iron Cross (I will edit that if I find another name) stating that each family should be proud of their their fallen loved ones.

Hehe Dell, figured you would like a surprise ;p

Saw your horde, figured I would make a battle out of it since it was the only one I would see for a while... guess your spy data was a bit out of date ;p

Tee hee, hope the Italian fleet does a number on you hehehe

Also, just for the 'files', as it were, is the cossack offensive doing anything at all to your production, or would you recommend just using them as assault units?

I toyed with both ideas, and figured I would go for the more risque of the two.

As I recall, losses in the Baltic sea naval combat during WWI were on an 8:5 ratio (Brits:Krauts), so battle is going in our favor... unfortunately, the German ships in the real thing were so badly damaged overall that they were useless for a good part of the rest of the war. Hopefully we are ahead in that ;p

I'm vaguely glad that your cossacks are where I can see them... The Antivari suprise wasn't nice.

Yeah, it hasnt been as much of a success as I had hoped. Your land adjacent to me is just too hilly for me to really burn you out.

I figure Antivari, if you want it, has got to be good for something, so I plopped a ton of troops there and decided to make a fight of it.

I'm debating on whether I should just turn around since at the moment everything seems stacked heavily towards defenders.

Unless you have WAYYY more heavy arty than I think you do, you should prolly just go away ;p hehe of course I could just be saying that because I want to attack... or maybe I just want to build a massive army and not have to worry about your invasion ;p

But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and will blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself a question: do I feel lucky? Well do ya, punk? ;p

The Ottoman battle report:

-- killed one russian Destroyer Flotilla near Constantinopel
-- damaged Pre Dreadnough, Light Cruiser and Armored Cruiser (all English) near Smyrna

Be carefull at deep waters!!

I am aware of that...

I would suppose that a screenshot would be safe 4-6 weeks after it is taken...Especially if the front has moved...

Also, naval battles are save almost as soon as both navies have retired back to port to heal...

Don't worry though...the Kaise will not allow any material crucial to Germany's self security to be released.

Where to I find a picture editor? Is is part of the game or do I just use paint or something?

He means any sort of picture editer so paint would be acceptable. Just open it up and press Ctrl + V and remember to save it as a jpg...

1914 Week 32 (July)

Although the German Military did not conduct any major offensives, the past week was quite eventful...

The Greatest Action occured in the North Sea just north of the Gulf of Denmark. The German High Seas Fleet spotted two very large British task force, one of which is undoubtedly the Grand Fleet.
North Sea - Gulf of Denmark
1 Coastal Battery, 2 Zeppelins (shot down), & 4 Dreads bombarded the southern task force, while 10 Dreads & 1 Sub (Ger) def. 2 Battle Cruisers,
4 Armored Cruisers, 4 Light Cruisers, & 1 Pre-Dread (Br) with no losses and only minor damage sustained by the victorious Sub & Dreads. An 11-0 Ratio in Germany's favor! :p

The Belgium Defensive, as the papers are calling it, rolled into its second week and the following engagements occured:
South West of Brussels:
2 210 MM Guns & 1 Siege Gun bombarded while 8 Inf R & 2 Armored Cars def. Petain's Corps & 4 Inf R (Fr) with the loss of 5 Inf R (Ger).
North of Verdun:
3 210 MM Guns & 1 Rail Gun bombarded while Ludendorf's 2nd Corps, 1 Inf R, 1 Armored Car & 1 Kav (Ger) def. Joffre's Corps & 3 Inf (Fr).
Northeast of Arras:
6 210 MM Guns & 1 Siege Gun (Ger) bombarded the BEF.
South of Liege:
1 Siege Gund bombarded while 8 Inf R & 1 Inf A (Ger) def. 1 Fortress Gaurd (Fr). After a fierce defense and the loss of 7Inf R & 1 Inf A (Ger) the brave slodiers were finally defeated. Germans have to admit that the French soldiers fought bravely and courageously as a Great Leader was produced but killed near the end of the battle.

Other Engagements Included:
The Belgrade Raid:
Ruprecht's 4th Corps (Ger) def. Kerensky's Corps (Rus).
West of Metz:
1 Inf R & 1 Kav (Ger) def. 2 Cav (Fr).
