Xteam 01 - Practice Game

I just got by b*** kicked on emp with BTS. I really need the practice game if we can get it off the ground.

Been thinking about you and hoping the flood waters haven't washed you away. I have heard some places have received 20-inches of rain in 3 days.
Wouldn't you know, a storm shows up that instead of blowing you away decides to try and wash you away.

Take care and watch the water levels..

I'm high and dry, just working way too much. Glad to see Gustov weakened some before hitting LA. We had minor wind from an extreme outer band of it in central FL as it passed by, if that helps give you an idea of how big that storm is. Now we got a line-up of 3 storms in a row coming across the Atlantic. Hanna is suppose to be affecting us Friday morning. Just as long as it doesn't mess with the UF vrs UM (Hurricanes) game Saturday in Gainesville.

Seriously, I dont see any way that Miami game wont be 56-10 either. And the game after that:cry:.

Glad to hear you're high and dry. Now we hope you dodge the trifecta heading your way. Seems like the should leave you alone for Saturday as Hanna is forecast to be up here by then! Although it somehow seems fitting that the 'Canes should play in one... :mischief:

I think we would all like the practice. I'm willing to play on. However, AlanH posted that the draft team rosters will be out by the 7th (4 days) and the start files will be available on the 12th. Hopefully, team threads will open by the 9th or 10th and I think we have much planning and testing to do, imho. Not sure how much time there will be to continue this...

The upcoming game seems like it will require us to be able to integrate many different parts of the game. Gonna be interesting!

This is still a rivalry game, even though we don't play each other every year, and with rivalry games records usually don't matter. Teams can get pumped up and play above their "normal" level. I think I heard this week that UF has lost all 6 matchups with UM since the yearly series ended in the late 80's. BTW, that was when I was at UF and those were some great games.

One of the reason UM hates UF so much has to do with the "Florida Flop" or "Gator Flop". Here's a link to the article about the series but here is the part about the "Flop".

The famous (or infamous) Florida Flop in 1971. With the ’Canes trailing big, Miami tried to run out the clock in the fourth quarter to prevent Reaves from breaking the single-season NCAA record for passing yardage. UF coach Ray Graves gave his defense the order to let UM score so Reaves could get the ball back. When the ball was snapped, 10 of the 11 UF defenders fell to the ground (the lone exception being current P.K. Yonge coach John Clifford). Reaves got the record, and after the game the Gators celebrated by taking a dip in Flipper’s pool in the south end of the field. “I remember the controversy,” Alvarez said. “But it should have been directed at Miami. They didn’t want Reaves to get the record. And they are the ones who gave up on the game.” Alvarez said he recently came across a photo from an old Miami Herald of the celebration in the pool. “It was a great picture and it made me laugh. I forgot how many of us went in the pool. It was sweet,” he said.

I was at the '02 (gainesville) and '03 (orange bowl) games. I have a lot of stories from those 2 weekends...

But yeah I guess you're right, they beat them those 2 and also in the Peach Bowl the next year.
