YnAMP - Development thread Civ6

Maybe this has been answered, but if it has I can't find it.

I played on Enormous map size, Fractal with Marathon speed. After about 50 turns I was around 15 seconds between turns. 16 civs and whatever is standard city states. With Huge map size, I was around 6 seconds a turn with 14 civs (I added 2) and whatever standard city states are. There is a big difference. My guess is it is the barbarians since 2 civs and a handful of city states won't more than double turn speed. So I have two questions.

1-Is there a mod, or anything that can be done to have faster or less barbarians? I don't want to turn them off, but they can be annoying so if they spawn less often I won't mind.
2-If they are the barbarians does that mean that the extra turn time won't be double throughout the game? For example if on Huge a turn time is 1 minute would it likely be 2 minutes or something like 1:30?

I did not turn off Windows Defender, but did set up an exception for Civ 6.

Seems like its not possible to have more Civilizations then 12 in online mode... even with that flipping to enourmous i cant have more then 12 players.

UPDATE GlobalParameters SET Value ='2' WHERE Name ='BARBARIAN_CAMP_MAX_PER_MAJOR_CIV';
UPDATE GlobalParameters SET Value ='7' WHERE Name ='BARBARIAN_CAMP_MINIMUM_DISTANCE_CITY';

It does not slow down the spawning of barbarians. It reduces the number per Civ by 1/3.
 
Trying out Alpha 4 Giant Earth map right now, marathon speed. Running it on an i7 6700k @ 4.0 ghz and a 1080 GTX with 8 GB of VRAM. Currently taking about 2 minutes to load map. First twenty or so turns went by quick until I discovered my first barbarian camp, then dropped down to about 30 seconds per turn. By the time I met my first city-state at turn 35, it was about a minute per turn. Does this sound right? Gonna overclock to 4.5 ghz and see how it goes.

Edit: I overclocked to 4.5 ghz and also disabled RTP on Windows Defender, but I'm still waiting over a minute between turns by turn 50 (marathon speed).

will the - Huge Earth (120x80): Dale's huge map edited with Europe and Japan upscaled be brought over to civ 6?

Just 10. It seems to just be the infamous barbarian lag. I turned off barbarians and now it's running pretty quickly. I was just curious because I play Civ 5 exclusively using the Giant Earth map, marathon speed, and Vox Populi, and it doesn't get to over 30 seconds on my PC until I'm well into the late classical era.

Playing on Alpha 3 Giant Map with all CIV VI civs on Marathon without Barbarians, I am at turn 510 and TURN TIMES are around 10 seconds !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

turned once Barbarians on and it was after 10 !!!!!! turns 2-3 MINUTES PER TURN ...

SO please to all MODDERS include that ... to your YNAMP_GamePlay.sql

(Somalia, Zanzibar, Caribians, Mongols, Hunns and so on where Pirates have been in History, that would be cool)

also only was able to play with 12 civs (me+brother+10 AI)

best setting in my opinion atm

America, Aztecs, Brasil
Egypt, Kongo
Spain, Germany (needs CS), Russia, Norway
Sumeria, India, China


... England and Japan have no chance , as you need space for 6-10 cities to be competetive on that map
... Persia is too close to Egypt and
... Scythia too close to Russia and Sumeria

game needs Hunns, Mongolia, Korea, Apache etc.

In Yet (not) Another Maps Packv1\Configuration there is file YNAMP_Config - in this file we can change Max/Min Players and also Max/Min and Default CityStates. But When I change that - nothing changes.

QUESTION anyone know how to include a new Game Speed ?

As epic is too fast (+50%) and marathon too slow (+250%) ...

would need something with +150%

because of gameplay , we NEED NATURAL WONDERS :) please consider to fix that next,
TSL is working and resources later, as we could already use Random from the game to have all of them !

Thank you and the MOD is the only reason, why I play CIV VI atm, because I hate that random maps :)

Couple notes:
- I've included Arabian civ as capital is now Cairo, but I've moved Egyptian one to Civ V localtion ( south Nil), so they don't overlap (rename needed?), other solution is to put Egyptian one to it's correct location (north Nil) and delete Arabian one.
- Greece capitals are 4 tiles away, test needed to see if they can develop well (code needed to make difference between leader too)
- I'm not sure Scythia capital is in the map or not, currently with placeholder number
-1st Greece entry is Athena, 2nd Sparta, Russia location is default Civ V (Moscow), St Petersbourg is (65,71)

and that map is perfect for testing for MP also, because there are already enough civs and cs to place !

I am trying now with ALL which are possible BUT ONLY ONE from the greece leaders, so if you use all you have 12

That is what is possible , if you choose anything else, it will be placed RANDOM

Hey Gedemon, I notice you increased the Plate Value to 6 for the Ludicrous map size. Can you tell us what you've found "plate value" to alter?
