Yes use all civ is fine as there is enough room for everyone to develop, to do so, select first size map > Giant, and then select "Play Europe again" and launch the map, you should have all (European) civ active
 
How to add more than 12 players in Multiplayer?
I've added some "how to" in the second post, including this one, which is unsupported for two reasons: the limit is here for a reason, and it requires to modify one of the original game's file.

High values should have no more issues than SP in hotseat, they may work in Lan, but I would not use them on internet.

Hey Gedemon, I notice you increased the Plate Value to 6 for the Ludicrous map size. Can you tell us what you've found "plate value" to alter?
No idea, just scaled it from the other map sizes value.
 
I noticed Egypt and Arabia start within 4 hexes of each other on Europe map. (I moved Arabia to 82,2 for my games on this map)

Any idea how to ensure all city-states spawn even with a smaller number of human players?
 
... England and Japan have no chance , as you need space for 6-10 cities to be competetive on that map

I played England on this map, I had no issues with them tbh, got 6 cities up on England/Ireland with minimal cross over and developed them pretty easily. I did however buy all tiles over on france with my first 2 cities (London and Manchester (Located at Weymouth lol) as my income allowed early game.
 
I've added the project on GitHub, and we can now set a specific starting position for a leader, see the example below

The first row is the starting position for any GREECE, but if the Leader of Greece is GORGO, the position in the second row will be used.

This way we can keep Moscow or Berlin as the default starting position for Russia and Germany and have specific position for their leaders. I'd like to always have the capital has a default position, and specific positions linked to a leader.

because you are a human :-) ... let play the AI there and game over for it ... if you want a little bit of a challenge the AI needs large FLAT space for around 6-10 cities and King Level !
and King level already feels weird , as when you conquer his city it produces 50% or so !
 
here is alpha 4 for a quick test before "public" release.
  • TSL should work for all real world maps, please confirm :)
  • Civilizations (and CS) with no TSL should not spawn (I've commented out Brussels and a few other city states on the 2 earth maps to liberate some space)
  • "Normal" map scripts should work again, I'd like confirmation on that too please

No TSL for Sumer or Scythia on Greatest yet. They still spawn random. (Tried Sumer 3 times.) Sorry...
 
I'm a bit confused about the Niter situation, in the opening post it says:
  • Niter is a strategic resource that is not imported from civ5 map
and then later where you explain to someone how to convert maps you show a bunch of code that has:

ResourceCiv5toCiv6[15]= 44 -- GOLD to NITER

in it, so will there be any niter or none at all if I import resource settings? and if there isn't any how will that affect my game/the AI? Can they just upgrade past Musketman when they get research past it or will they keep having the now poor quality units before Musketman till they eventually die?
 
Works fine for me, you using older version? Suggest you download 0.4 and try again.

I'm talking about 0.4, obviously.

But I noticed that Greatest TSL works fine on MP. Perhaps it's related to the Aztec DLC? (I don't have that, and we disdabled it on MP, resulting in perfect TSL.)

A remark about Russia: no tundra in 20 hex distance and they have special bonus on tundra which makes no sense without tundra ;-)
Maybe a remark for later: some tundra between Moskwa and St. Peterburg...

Could you post your Lua.log after loading a game with that map please ?
 
I loved this map, so great job and thanks. I started a game as Norway and the starting city conditions are pretty hard to overcome. There's very little farmable area, mostly tundra. Into the classical age I was waaaay behind other civs on Prince level. Just a suggestion, but maybe make that start location a bit on par with other civs. Thanks again
