YnAMP - Yet (not) Another Maps Pack

YnAMP - Development thread Civ6

When I select "Giant Earth" in multiplayer setup. No one can join!

When I pick greatest earth they can. With greatest earth the client "Local network games" screen also shows "Game Speed" and "additional content - yes" but
with Giant Earth not.

largest earth is also multi player compatible but I don't want to try that multiplayer .. to big.

Giant would be perfect but it's not MP compatible :(

Gedemon, If you have not heard me sing your praises, I do and will continue. I have a question perhaps you know. I liked a map option in Civ V that was called 'big and small' or 'small continents'. Personally I would like to keep your maps sizes and add on mods but have the option for those two map types. I currently use your mods and use regular Continents or Fractal on Enormous.

Hotseat question

How can I add more than 12 (11 AI) players to the Greatest Earth Map?
See "how to" in second post of first page.

sorry if already answered but...do I need to delete my beta1 version from the My Games folder before I go to Steam Workshop and add it as a mod. Also, haven't heard anything weird happening with the Australia DLC because I'm going to get it as well.
yes, remove beta 1 if you use steam version (or upgrade to beta 2 from here if you don't use steam, beta 1 is not compatible with the Australian patch)

Gedemon,
I love the mod, and prefer to play on your map packs above all else. I loved the Civ V Europe map and had hours of fun. I have been playing your Europe map as well. I asked on page 73 about a problem with city-states. I do not know why, but it seems that TSL on the city-states is somewhat random. They spawn in the proper place, however, they do not always all spawn. I have games with as few as 5 city-states out of the entire list of expanded Europe. I keep the close city-states (Brussels, Amsterdam & Geneva); yet, that is random on whether they spawn or not. Another issue, on the set up option, you can select having the city-states and AI not have settlers and be replaced with cities; this does not happen. I'd love to see this issue with city-states fixed; some of those bonuses are well worth it, and it hurts when the city-states does not exist.

Respectfully,
W
I'll try to change the number in map setting so it can be raised, but there will always be a part of randomness... unless you use the "only European Civilization" sub-mod. (note that you still have to set up the major civs manually with this version)

I'd like the lua.log if the enforce TSL option is not working after launching a new game.

Hey, total noobie here. Could someone post a before-and-after example of where exactly I need to modify the XML and SQL code to add a new civ? The file I'm altering is the Map.xml file for the respective map... correct? lol.
Any gameplay XML file will do, but the fastest/easiest way is to edit those Map.xml files in the map's folder

Thanks for the precision about the size, I'll have a look. Internet should work, AFAIK the problem is only on LAN.

No map script planned ATM, but any scripts (like detailed worlds) that does not replace assignstartingplots.lua should work with YnAMP sizes and options.

Got quite far into a marathon game on the Giant map (I usually play greatest earth), but I gave up eventually because I realized the AI didn't fight a single significant war in all of history. There were border skirmishes, but not one city ever changed hands. When I finally checked the replay screens, nobody had really lost more than a couple dozen units in the whole game. This was on Marathon/Emperor. Anyone else seeing the same thing? I'm not sure if it's because the map is too big (seems unlikely, as there were many penned-in civs with only 1-3 cities), or if they toned down the AI in the last patch.

I will have to take the time to retest this; however, when I use the "only European Civs" the map jumps & locks on Tomyris' capital when Scythia is meet. This effectively destroys the game. Even then, when using that sub-mod, not all city-states are present. I was playing France, so I could test, and Brussels & Geneva existed (as I do not play removing close CS), but Amsterdam was missing. There was no obstruction to make Amsterdam vanish. Furthermore, the CS still start as settlers instead of being replaced by cities; therefore, I believe that portion of the drop-down does not work.

I have attached the save file for the Scythia issue. I do run Quo's combined tweaks mod, as well as several additional unit mods. However, I had all of these working together fine before the addition of Australian Summer (which ruined it all). Furthermore, the CS did not randomly spawn & vanish until the Australia drop.

Hi

I just startet a game playing Australia on the Giant Earth map (giant size) - and for some reason it makes the Australian Continent a part of Asia. Is it a error or how to change that? I first started a game on Giant Earth but with small map size by mistake, and there the continent was Oceanic, now on Giant map size selected the continent is Asia.

Anyone else had crashes in mid game (around 1500) with the main YNAMP mod and mod leaders/civs both enabled? I've consistently had mid game crashes when both are active but disabling the main YNAMP mod seems to alleviate these. Something well worth looking into I think.

I've been using the following:
Firebug's Napoleon III and Ashoka
JFD's Nicholas II
Sukritact's Hadrian
Leugi's Anna Nzinga
Rob's Punt

Priot to the latest patch I was using Denmark, the Sikhs, Ukraine and Anglo Saxons and having similar crashes. Can't identify the problem in the logs.

Edit - game without YNAMP crashed around 1700ad... This game just does not handle mods well.

It's more correct to say that it doesn't handle the combination of mods you use.

I just won in 1945 as Australia at marathon pace on GEM ludicrous size (230x115) with 18 civs and 30 city states.
Apart from the known bugs (Jadwiga speaking Portugeuse and a freeze on exit) Ynamp performed flawlessly for the 1000+ turns.

Does this affect the distribution of Civ/minor civs on the maps? I hate how most of the time everybody's cramped up in one part while other parts seem to have large areas with only a few players.

I use AI+ mod with this now, but even prior to I saw lots of conquering.

My last playthrough I had to resurrect Arabia and Egypt (conquered by Kongo), then France (beat on by Spain and Rome), then push back the Aztecs and restore about 7 US cities.

I had a game where Gorgo was ripping through Europe. Rome usually gets aggressive. I've not even once seen a game where Sumeria, Egypt, and Arabia don't get into a cage match. Sometimes China and India get into a never ending war, eternally exchanging cities.

Won't restart until after next dlc I think, but on a non-earth giant map I started last night cities are being taken left and right. By god, the capital of Norway is now the capital of Germany, and the capital of Germany is now Russian.

For some reason, I've never had a problem with unit upgrades either. My first few times playing I was usually outclassed unit-wise (I'm too cheap to upgrade without the reduction policy, after archers and swordsmen).

Anyways... no, have had no lack of war at its most earnest, even after latest patch/dlc.

Why aren't Egypt's and Russia's capital located in their historic locations ( Alexandria and St. Petersburg)?

define "historic locations" in a 6000 years game :)

Anyway, just see "how to" in second post to change them, because I want Thebes and Moscow in my games.

I was defining the locations by the capitals of when the leaders reigned. I must have missed the instructions on how to change them. I apologize for causing you trouble.
