You lie!

Yeah, I know that his insurer dropped him. My question is why, mainly.
I think many people share your disappointment with the ACA; truly, there should've been a more centrist option, instead of one crafted under a highly partisan environment. If you'd polled people in 2008, they'd have wanted this guy to be able to buy into a gov't plan.

Homey, this is the centrist option. Our Congress doesn't simulate the wisdom of the crowd.

The price of coverage was supposed to go down because of competition. But in many cases, it seems to be going up. Since we're forced (mandated) to buy, it's a seller's market. What were the President's advisors thinking? They can't be that stupid, can they?

My group plan coverage has gone up about 75%.

For independent buyers, NPR reports the insurance companies regularly cancel current policies, saying they don't meet the new Obamacare standards, and then offer a higher-priced option.

This thread is a perfect example of why I can't be a Republican. I mean, I like small government. I like low taxes, hate Soda Bans, "keep government out of lives" resonates with me. I don't even like smoking bans, even though I don't smoke. It's just that today, Republican means being willfully ignorant. You explain something again & again & again, & what do they do? Ignore it.

They hear something on the radio & ignore every fact you've already told them. You give them links, in this very thread, but they don't care. Someone on the radio told them what to think. Someone told them what they should believe, & they believe it in spite of all evidence to the contrary.

For whatever it's worth, *sigh* one more time, anyone who wanted to keep their pre-Obamacare policy can keep it. They are Grandfathered. Scroll up to where I already told you this. And you ignored it. And you kept repeating your debunked talking points. You may have even made a new thread about it with a catchy title, when it had already been addressed.

If you bought your plan post March'10, you were never promised anything. If you changed your plan post March'10, you were never promised anything. You can bite yourself. That's a technical term. But, if you liked your pre-March'10 plan, you can keep it. To this day. Until you want something else. You are Grandfathered. For as long as you like. That's what you were promised & that's exactly what you got. If you liked your plan in March'10, you could keep it. And still can. If you changed it after that date, you can't.

We have hundreds of groups & thousands of individuals that get to keep their pre-March'10 plan because they are Grandfathered & they were promised they could keep their plan & that promise is kept.

If you are not Grandfathered, keep whining. We don't care. You Were Never Promised Anything. If your plan you bought after March'10 sucks, you can't keep it.

People who were paying attention understood this 3 & 1/2 years ago. You now have to meet the minimum standards, which is $6500 out-of-pocket per year. If you wanted something worse, you should have bought it before March'10 & kept it, which is what you were promised.

People who have had this explained to them in thread after thread after thread are being willfully ignorant. I don't know how much clearer I can be.

dont call me a republican

and if you will notice, I wasn't in that other thread when you saved us from our willful ignorance and this is the first time I've had the displeasure of reading your bile :D

the fact older plans were grandfathered aint relevant, some people cant keep plans they like and they were "promised" that option.

If your plan you bought after March'10 sucks, you can't keep it.

well there ya go, you just caught up to us and think you've been ahead the whole time.

I was stunned to learn cash paying customers pay more than people with insurance even if both are paying cash for a procedure.

Iam stunned to learn that a anti venom developed in Mexico, tested in the US with Federal funds and then approved it sold in Mexico for $100 USD and $40,000 USD in the US. Stunned to have just learnt this information from 4 year ago.

Mexico: Developed antivenon
Mexico: Munfacture antivenon
Mexico: Sells anti venon $100 USD
US: Did not develope antivenon
US: Testing funds provided by Federal Government
US: Sells same drug $40,000 USD

You relied!!!!

on Democrats to tell the truth... :(

I heard about a case this past spring I think, a woman was stung by a scorpion or bit by a rattler in Arizona and the cost of the anti-venom injection was in the ballpark of 40k and costs under a $100 across the border.

I'd love to know how that happens

Why do you think I was talking to you?

I knew about grandfathered plans - they aint relevant, you jumped in to let us know about them and acted like you're bringing us The Good News :goodjob:

Now I can see you're just a troll and I'm liable to get a lecture about civility from the mods if I respond in kind.

"bile" was your word. That goes a long way to counter my whole "works in the industry" knowledge. You should do that more.

I'd love to know how that happens

The magic of the free market.
I blame Reagan Democrats for free emergency care for illegal, parasites and the obese uninsured.

Duh. Everyone has to buy health insurance from us private companies = socialism!

Yes, bile was my word and promise was yours

So some people are losing their policies and you think the fact other policies are not being cancelled means its willfully ignorant to mention the policies that are being cancelled.

is that about right?
