Hello ...

for me I would say that my favorite is beyond doubt .. Staropramen ... followed by Pilsner Urquell, XX lager (mexico), and Radeberger Pils .. is really cool too ... of course I like lots of beer .. but those are my fav...

and for you?

:)

My favorite beer is no beer at all, because beer tastes objectively horrible. Bitter things will always taste bad; it's simply in our biology to repulse bitter tasting things. If you want a relaxing drink, drink soda, or failing that, plain old water.

Current fav for me is also Dos Eqs (XX) from Mexico.

There are too many good beers to have a single favourite but I must commend you on your taste in pilsners. Nothing better on a hot day than a classic Czech pilsner. Except maybe a good IPA or weissbier. Ah, decisions.

Other personal favourites of mine include the old faithful Newcastle Brown, various Belgian trappist ales, and the products of a couple Norwegian micro/craft breweries that none of y'all have probably heard about unless you're also Norwegian. Used to be really fond of stouts but my tastes have shifted a bit toward porters (which is not to say that I dislike stouts, mind you).

I'm more of a wine fan, but I do like the occasional beer.

My fav's are Tannenzäpfle (from the Black Forest) and Andechser Doppelbock.

The latter is a very dark and extremely strong beer, sort of like Guinness but IMO much better and quite a bit stronger - some 8% alc. IIRC. Not recommended for Americans used to their weak American horse-piss. :D

I love Guinness too, it might seem to bitter for some, and the export version sucks, but if you can get it from tap, it's a damn fine beer.

I've probably only ever had the export version, then, because I don't like it: a bit too bitter, and I always detect a slight soapy taste. Once you force down the first one, though, it gets better ;)

There are several German dark beers that are much better, Andechser Doppelbock being the strongest and best IMHO.

Well there is this Guinness bar in Aachen where you can get Guinness from tap, or so I think...
Doppelbock Bier is also good, I had some in Kulmbach back in 2000.

Nothing fancy. Bavaria. Just a nice light tasty beer.

Today, I have the afternoon to myself, the sun is out, could well be the last few sunny warm days of 2009. I'll be having a few of those in a couple of hours.
